Artificer Armor is not necessarily old, exactly. Techmarines are encouraged to forge their own, meaning theirs are pretty new. Artificer Armor is more or less the protective equivalent of mastercrafted weapons. Exceptional quality, sometimes additional systems (self repair, for example), but nothing more.

One reason I posted this was a guilty pleasure because my iron warrior isn't bad ass enough for me without his mk3. Truthfully I can't wait to see what we will be getting soon enough with content update, mmmmmmm
I agree some of the undivided legions choose not to take the mutations. I know iron warriors cut off the mutated parts and replace with bionics as they see it as weak and don't believe in the powers as much as say word berrers
Both lorewise and logically speaking, there is absolutely no reason why a chaos marine can't just kill a loyalist and take their helmet.. Chaos marines have mark 8 but in very low quantities, and some of their helmets on tabletop look like mark 7 with horns attached. Hey wait the actual CSM models themselves have mark 6 too, the greaves most noticeably, as well as raptors having modified mark 6 helmets on their sprue
You're not wrong, but then again, you've got everyone and their mother carrying a storm shield (rare veteran only equipment) plasma guns (only 1 in 10 tactical marines get one) iron halos (captain only gear) artificer armor (again, rare) etc.
Even if they wished lore speaking would break the game as rare as some items are. Speaking of shields I can't wait for chaos to get their seige shields or boarding shields " whichever people want to call them" to match all the races once eldar get their shimmering shields Since this is a game after all rarity doesn't matter as much as it should. We can only wish having that one op marine with all rare gear to murder everything. But we can only wish
This. And the Mark III in EC looking like official Forgeworld Mark III Armor. It's not as if BHVR has to make this stuff up from scratch. Copy the sets exactly as they appear on Forge World and $$profit$$. EC Store, I would buy up any of the sets below in a heartbeat, regardless of cost. Though that's assuming the items on the EC store looked exactly like the stuff off of Forgeworld. "Kind of" or "sort of" looking like official 40k/30k gear doesn't get my money.
