Best of luck to you Eternal Crusade, but once you start tricking people into getting their billing information and then require them to register and pay at a third party website, I'm out.

Enjoy having my phone number and address, I'm sure I'll get a ton of spam mail, but I refuse to pay a penny to a site that would do something like that.

For the record, I was going to buy the Sergeants pack.

  2. How else would they process a payment? Companies dont usually build their own payment systems its very expensive legally and software wise so most use sites who specialize in online transactions, which makes your personal information safer anyways than some shopping cart system they coded up overnight if ya think about it.
I think all payment places legally require your billing address to confirm it matches the credit card info to reduce fraud sort of like that CCV. I believe those are federal laws, but a phone number isnt required, email is done to coordinate your purchase with the site you purchased it from in this case EC for record keeping.

Like any other modern website or game company.

Have you never purchased a video game before, or online content?

Yes, no unheard of third party billing bullshit for me thxs.

You will when you get email spam and hundreds of calls in the middle of the night about your account balance being empty from the bank.

Their using Stripe was already announced prior to the Founder's Program being launched.

  8. This is a studio not a whole like company like steam or EA, they are more worried about making a game not shopping software :p When they make loads of moenh they can do both, but id rather them spend money on making the game now then coding up a whole shopping system, thats just my opinion on that.
  9. Just to offer up, I work in the financial industry... if your card gets compromised, it's very quick and relatively painless to get your card # switched so long as you actually pay attention to your account, and most card companies are pretty quick to refund for fraudulent charges so long as you report it as soon as you notice it. Is there some headache if you have to update other vendors with your new info? Sure. Do all those other vendors already have your information floating around on their servers and are subject to losing your information at any time or date? Absolutely. Ever bought a game off Steam that wasn't developed by Valve? Congratulations... you gave your information to a 3rd party. I don't think given the IP that Behavior is working with (W40K and Games Workshop) that they'll do anything to jeopardize their position. I can understand your agitation, but really, I think this game has some great potential behind it. At the end of the day, you'll obviously do whatever makes you comfortable, but you sound like you were really hyped up for this game and are now pretty pissed. Might do well to sleep on it.

most game companies and websites use a third party system for their orders, they just usually hide it behind their own front end instead of using the original one.

if you dont like it... just use paypal and solve the problem...
