I love the character of the apprentice inquisitor, that arrogant sarcastic arsehole that toys with his victims. That with the whole set up to the movie captures the atmosphere perfectly. absolutely top notch
I wouldnt hold my breath. Unlike what some popular science pushers would have you believe they arent even half as close to AI as they sometimes let you believe with shitty 'science articles'. Basically, a computer right now is in fact dumber than an average human, yet it can do tasks at lightning speeds. Things like...computing. Now so far humans can program shit that tells the computer to do certain things by itself, things like selfdiagnostics etc. But the computer doesnt have selfawareness and should it find let's say a virus, he wont do shit about it. Just report it. I was giving it some thought not too long ago, and I think that the key to AI could be a combination of 'charactertraits' to be programmed into a computer. My logic is this: we came forth from evolution. Evolution is adaptation, outdo your rivals, stay alive long enough to reproduce the next generation which is improved (ever so slightly) than the previous generation. -survival instinct -competetiveness - reproducing - improving So if my little hypothesis would be correct, the key to AI would mean an AI that knows fear, thatis highly driven to outdo competition and to kill off any threats. Good luck with that.
it is kind of frustrating that there is 3 minutes of spectacle, a minute 40 seconds of credits, and only 5 minutes of story in the 9 minute 40 second video
Just a prologue, man. That's years of hard work already, especially when the guys who made it did it just out of their passion.
that wouldn't end well in the great majority of scenarios and you know it. fear and competition work as drive and mean in a natural context that puts survival as a purpose. but ai would be made in the artificial context that is a society which puts coexistence as a purpose instead; the mean you'll likely be looking for is collaboration, while the drives are inevitably positive and negative feedbacks on the ai (fear being a more advanced version of them).
