Hi, i just wanted to share this real quick with you guys, its an issue that has bothered me for quite a while now, makes me wonder if orks are so strong that you cant use your nob specific item? here, look at this, this is the only viable way you can equip it Now before anyone say "just use it with lower armor" well THATS THE ISSUE" its literally better to have the heavy armor + iron gob than no armor (if you dont want to use dakka deffgun you cant use even the medium armor with the loota mega gob) and loota mega gob, wich makes me wonder, why the hell is this item so damn expensive in LP? like are we actually meant to use this loadout from my picture? For those wondering other combinations i will gladly post a picture, this one above is the only way it is worth getting it, other ones you get less armor, toughness and health Now let me tell you, other heavy gunners such as chaos(cant confirm marine and eldar as i dont their vets yet, although very likely it works just like chaos) can use their vet specific item, in this case halo and a medium armor + a gun of your desire as you are left with quite a bit of points still, my chaos got nurgle halo, medium armor, MCHV, ammo pack, krak nades, 4 trinkets and i still got 10 points left(If i remove few items i can fit AC easily)
I think LP balancing is something they are currently looking at. Especially for Vets, since right now the LP is currently restricting your possible builds, and variety of play styles.
Honestly the only Nob Gob I like to use is the Stormboyz since it has +1 fuel and extra stats on it. Every other classes gob is overpriced for what it gives: With slugga boy you are paying almost 200lp more than the mega gob for 20 health and 10 armor.... big whoop. Shoota boy gob is just the mega gob + sharp tooth belt except it costs 20 points more? Pain boy just gets +30 hp which is basically the grim trophy stapled to the mega gob.... not bad actually but I like to put nice sluggas on my doks which the class gob prohibits. So my philosophy is to use the stromboy gob and zog da rest. EDIT: Just a note that you can use a plasma deffgun with it as well (which I do) but still isn't that worth it really.
Vet Dev is in a similar position. Relic armour, his own halo, standard Heavy Bolter, and 60lp left over for an ammo pack and a trinket. Granted that works out fine for me as the HB is a full-auto .998 sniper cannon while set up defending the final point and who's operator can absorb a plasma cannon round easily, but for those that want to return plasma fire both the ammo kit and halo must be exchanged for the generic halo or you could look at downgrading the armour. From this thread and others it looks like any veteran loadout in any army with a modicum of flavour suffers the same. If this is an attempt to make rifles/ heavy machineguns stand out more compared to exotic weapons and equipment, they do that just fine by being great if not excellent already.
Yeah, LP costs in general are too fucking high for wargear. Pistols should be free too. Basic ones I mean. Drop the cost of special ones by 50 to match.
It costs a lot because it offers an insane amount of EHP. The CSM sigils cost slightly less because they have a downside. The LSM halos cost just as much and usually have slightly less stats because they're focused on armor which cost more LPs. Basically it's the same for everyone because health and armor have a fixed LP cost. I disagree. Especially on Orks which have cheap weapons with amazing stats. You can take the class mega gob on a shoota boy with a Big Shoota or the Slugga mega gob with a burny choppa. LSMs for example can't equip their stormbolter or a melee weapon of similar power with class halos.
