"Buboes, phlegm, blood and guts! Boils, bogeys, rot and pus! Blisters, fevers, weeping sores! From your wounds the fester pours." My name is necrosius01 and i am a fellow follower of nurgle, i am upset that there was no nurgly things included (as of yet) but never fear for i am here to find out who is like me a child of the plague lord? and what got you into him?
I am a fellow child of Nurgle! So lonely, are we. But then, we are death incarnate. Everything has a beginning, and an end. And through festering rot and plague, we shall bring that end!
So all i know about plague marines is they got +1 Toughness and a fancy smoke grenade in 4th. In 3rd#2 it was a bad idea to mark havocs with nurgle as their heavy weapons options were very limited, could take a sickle worth D6 EXTRA CC ATTACKS and could fire their bolters one-handed. And in 3rd #1 got a poison knife and +1 toughness. What would you guys like to see for special nurgle stuff when DG become available?
Well we will already have the Mark of Nurgle in at launch, so my Aspirant will already be dropping Nurgle themed witchfires/maledictions/benedictions. Outside that id like to see the bolters of the DG/fully aligned Nurgleites fire Plague Bolts by default and having Blight Grenades as a grenade variant. Plague Knives wouldnt hurt too, exchanging the normal combat knives. On the aesthetic end, i wont rest till my character has a bloated and torn stomach.
Plague Swords would be nice for the more assault-oriented fighters like me. Maybe some special abilities, like vomiting and an aura of flies. And, while I doubt it'd be in the game, some Plague Zombies would be totally awesome.
Plague on weapons probably causing damage-over-time? What special bolters do they get? In 3rd they had True Grit with them and got an extra attack in melee. I would hope the bloated stomach is a default skin when DG come in We get god marks right away? have they said what effects it will apply?
In the table-top game, Plague Swords basically insta-kill on a 5+. And they are poisoned, so they get re-roll. So if they were implemented here, they would probably be a very powerful close-combat weapon. However, Plague Marines are notoriously slow.
They dont have special bolters from what i recall, their weapons are simply "blessed" (and by relation corroded and in very bad states maintenance wise) and they are coated with disease just like their knives. This can easily be balanced out by making the direct impact damage a bit smaller then a normal bolter (since they are in such horrible shape that they tend to explode in their hands lorewise) but applying a DoT to compensate. As for the Marks, we dont know what each one will do, we only know that the Marks will be in the game so you can make your own "Nurgle build" or "Khorne build". ==Chaos Gods== At launch, the Chaos Gods will be present, but not out in full force. That's going to be coming with time. Instead, expect to see the Chaos Gods flavour your builds with accessories. These should be major accessories though, so we fully expect you to be able to call this a "Nurgle" build, or a "Khorne" build, etc. You're just not devoting yourself yet, so you can switch it out at will. Psychic powers are generally pretty tied to specific gods, of course. This lets us give them more flavour, but is also handy for balancing purposes. http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/thr...ke-in-eternal-crusade.802/page-90#post-187201 Theres a bit more talk on the mark end in the Sorc Info thread you can find in the Chaos subforum, which basically implies that the mark the Aspirant has on him will decide what spells he can cast (eg Slaanesh mark--->only Slaaneshy spells).
My Avatar is actually a picture I had drawn of myself as a Death Guard Marine. I love me some Nurgle.
