Hello everyone, am I the only one here thinking that the loadout menu should be accessible in-game, while waiting for the respawn? Sometimes it becomes necessary to change the weaponry of a given class in order to better face the opponent (for example: wielding Lascannons as Devastator/Havoc if the enemy is deploying a lot of vehicles)
No, but I think it should stay the way it is. It forces you to put thought into your loadouts. Otherwise, the moment an enemy tank is spotted everyone can just switch to a lascannon and obliterate it immediately, especially since respawns come in waves
The idea is that we'll be able to make a number of loadouts but will only be able to take 5 into a battle, allowing us to set up for a variety of roles but forcing us to pick carefully for each battle. This way we can have dedicated PvE loadouts and PvP loadouts but can't be ready for every possible scenario.
It's part of the design, only 5 loadouts per match. The concept goes along the lines of... you make planetfall with a certain amount of gear, and only have that gear to work with. So you make planetfall with 5 loadouts. We are supposed to have access to lots of loadouts we can build and save, hopefully copy and paste to make new loadouts. So say we have a total of 20 loadouts, you pick 5 per match. For this to work, we need to be able to have a ONE TIME chance at the beginning of each match to choose which 5 loadouts we want, once we see which map loads up. Ideally I'd like to be able to make a 5 loadout package, name each 5 loadout package, and swap in 5 at a time, if I dont want to have to scroll through all 20 loadouts every match to pick the 5 I want.
While I agree with everyone that some thought is necessary to your loadouts, as an Eldar player, I want to at least have enough loadouts for one of every class. Currently I have to drop one class from my loadouts and once Banshees come out it will be two. Post launch once warp spiders are in it will be three. I realize I can still use the defaults but just ugh...
