Left and Right mouse at the same time. And it should stagger them if they quick attack you
  4. There's a much better way than holding both L+R mouse button down, just go into key bindings and you'll find a defensive bash key binding, this essentially makes it so you only need to tap 1 key or mouse button once to block a quick attack.

An Shield Slam move for dbashing when having shield equipped and actively holding would be awesome, yea. In all cases would look better than the oxymoron happening currently.

THe melee system in THQ's Space Marine game was its own sort of RPS, and it was actually good because it was fast-paced. All three classes had a way to handily win melee fights if the players were competent. You could interrupt JPAs with a back-hand attack and get in two knife swings within the space of about 1.5 seconds. If you had the serrated blade perk, this was usually a guaranteed kill vs the JPA. Devastators had a stomp that could stagger and usually break armor. If you had good aim and reflexes, a headshot with the bolt pistol would then finish the fight. If you were JPA, you had a lot of mobility and most of the same moves as tactical marines. The ground slam attack was actually good, but you could still be outplayed if the player was skilled.

The issue with melee in this game is, IMO, that it is too easy to drag out melee fights because the animations take too damn long considering the TTK with ranged weapons.

that bock has always mostly been for 1) blocking ranged shots and 2) mostly able to be used to block in tight narrow places like inside of narrow hallways and buildings.

people actually use the aim lock during melee? after trying it a few times I gave up and aim manually and seem to live a lot longer
