Cannons have the same damage per projectile as catapults? Edit: Just checked, cannons do more damage than catapult, so how is my statement contradictory? Edit: They also have a far higher rate of fire.
No clue, its well known that Katitof doesn't like Shuriken Cannons. I think they are 'eh' and its more the Reaper as a whole that needs help. Anyhow, this is about the Pistol not the Cannon. So what would be a good reload time. I am thinking between 1-1.5 seconds, which makes sense as Shuriken weapons are psychically linked to their wielder, and their magazines are quick eject.
Honestly I can't see much point in talking about pistols when the Dbash gives you almost no time at all to propely use em in the first place, you might land a few shot with em sure but you will end up having to use your speed to give enough space for you to reload it in time and go for another attack, wich is kinda pointless when you can use your main gun to do the job for you. I might be wrong in the eldar combat tactics as I only played em very little in the past but I think on the Dbash part we can agree yes ?
I am mainly referring to the disparity between the Shuriken pistol and Bolt pistol. An assault Marine can almost kill an Eldar with 1 clip. Whereas the Shuriken pistol feels like it is far to innacurate to land most shots. However the RPM would justify that if you didn't spend half the time reloading. As I said, you spend 50% of the time reloading the gun, as the magazine empties so fast.
I have to say that I rarely use pistols, but the shooting time really is short compared to reload time. And since I know the Eldar rate of fire, I can imagine this feels awful. Maybe increasing the damage by 1 point and reducing the reload time by 0.2 seconds (that should be 10%) would help? It should be less enough to not threaten balance but enough to make for a smoother shooting experience.
A bolt is an 2stage RPG more than anything else. "The payload, or rocket ammunition of the bazooka is stored in the rear end of the inner chamber. The RPG, on the other hand, has its payload at the front end, outside of the inner chamber."
Just wanted to say that adding a mod to balance a weapons base stats compared to the others is not balance or a fix as now Eldar have to spend loudout LP to be on equal footing. They need to adjust slightly it's base platform.
Indeed, that would give us the Hunter's Mark again Thankfully the in-game catapults shoot particle effects for easy handwave, i.e. "1 invisible hitscan tracer = 1 particle effect = 2 Shurikenz" or something
I think the main issue with eldar pistols is the lack of variety. The shuriken pistol is fine, imo. It may not perform just like the bolt pistol but it has its own things going for it. The issue is that we don't have such a wide variety as the LSMs (who get slow and fast bolt pistols, plasma, and melta and grav pistols that COULD be implemented later) or even orks (slow and fast ones, pokit rokkit, and six shoota which is still strangly busted with horrifically low damage, lol.). And the issue with THAT is because GW haven't really given eldar options there ever. I propose we get las-pistols (spinoff from the las-blaster) to fulfil the slow, accurate, and hard-hitting role. And maybe the shuriken long pistol too which was apparently in beta before launch. I don't know if those weapons are on TT version or not (I haven't played TT in a LONG time) but I think bE should take some liberties here.
