Which is fair enough, but it would be nice if we at least had a ship in orbit we could bum about in to get our Eldary kicks.
Well let's get one thing clear, there's 3 biomes; desert, tundra and volcanic. Rain is not a biome, it's a weather modifier, in this case a weather modification for a desert map. Arguably there is a 4th biome of the Underground stuff. But yes, we need more maps. We have Tyranids, so why not the whole Tyranid terraformation stuff? It's perfectly logical and hasn't been done at all to my knowledge in a shooter.
I'm thinking more if one territory held, Gargoyles join the mix, 2 territories= Zoanthropes, 3 = Carnixes 4 = Hive Tyrant etc.. Something along those lines.
If we don't get a city ruin map I'll be pissed, all the assets are available to make one. At least something that resembles a city would be great and not generic industrial site #1 #2 and #3.
I think all cities are hive cities on these worlds. Not sure they have the assets to throw together one of those. We need one of the lore guys to chime in here. They do though have all the assets for a town, which really is all we need to fight in size wise. Just to get some urban combat going would be nice.
If the devs don't give a damn about lore with regards to the current maps why would they care about it for future maps?
An utter lack of consideration of lore with regards to maps and objectives. So far the buildings seem to have 0 purpose because they are empty shells with random obstacles and pathways placed inside. The objective types themselves have 0 impact on gameplay. EC is about 4 of the most powerful races in the galaxy fighting over empty buildings to capture things that do nothing.
