I've been messing around with voice changers and programs. I'm having lots of fun with it. Been trying to imitate and create voices for Dreadnoughts and Terminators and I gotta say, I'm satisfied with it. Can you tell me what you think? https://soundcloud.com/collin-blasing/process-dreadnought-barks I made some Barks that I would like a Dreadnought to say. The first four are "spawning in" and the rest are "go here and capture this point" Some of it sounds awkward because I chose to use a Text-to-speech device because it sounds more robotic and better that way.
Huh. I like it! At first the jittery voice of the Text to Speech was a little offsetting, but the more I listened to it the more I became satisfied with the outcome. The time and modulation of the voice is done very well so props to you! The only thing I'd say needs tuning is the occasional awkward length between words. But overall it's a pretty good effort! For an Ork
I attempted before to use my own voice, but I guess a lot of that Dreadnought effect comes from how one speaks rather than simply the voice effect itself.
Indeed. You'd have to have a high level of modulation in tandem with a specific voice and method of speech. Hard to accomplish.
Since there isn't an official patch coming this week, could we get the new voice clips posted somewhere where we might listen to them?
I like new sounds as power armor servo-musculs work! Good job! A small question, should we expect to hear new VO in game next week?
Hey Crusaders! A very brief audio update: I finished the VO structure, which has taken me ages, and will be, as of posting this message, on Spring Break. I have read your questions and will reply individually sometime next week. For me now it is skating, skiing and sledding fun in the cold sun for the next few days. On Monday Mathieu and I will test the new system to be sure our memory pools are adequate and then I start in on the new VOs. So as I said in last week's Twitch, the new voices will not be in the next patch. Mathieu was away for a few days and is back now. He is sorting out some systemic issues with our soundbanks and has some more stuff to do for the character Foley, music, etc. Fred is busy with enviro-audio and will be all month, at least. He is making very good headway with the new maps so fairly soon you might notice, if the din of battle is not fierce, that the enviro is starting to sound pretty sweet.
