Shouldn't keep us from doing other things in-between that aren't necessarily canon, though, as long as we don't have people who should be somewhere else showing up. I would not mind waiting until the heresy for a bit, since, to my mind, the heresy would be the Aristotelian climax of this RP. Also, I think that if we want to go into the Heresy as to prevent staleness, then what would we do post-heresy for that? After all, it's probably the single biggest event of all our characters' lives, and that's without keeping in mind that once we're through it, roughly half of us likely have to roll new characters to keep with the group because of Irreconcilable Alignment Differences. I know I'm a horrible party-splitting person, but I think playing two entirely different RPs at the same time until we clash is a bit too much for our poor GM. Just my 2 Eurocents.
Personally it was a case of 'Oh big enemy soldier with DEADLY weapon and many arms! Distract/kill him and save the others!' Not 'glory'.
@Vulpas yeah, remembrancers arrived during our stay at Ullanor but since our intermission phase was aimed in different direction, expect them to say official "hi" after this mission Aye, there won't be 2 different RP "modes" going at the same way here. You guys will have to chose whether you go chaos or not and if the group is too divided, there will be a reckoning and a PVP fight to determine the outcome, although that will happen only if you are divided around 50-50. If the majority is for one option, we'll go with that option (democracy and all). Since I usually don't wanna speak up my own opinion on the matter so if that actually happens nobody can say "Colapse fudged it", I'll step up now and say that I'd prefer to write about loyalist Emperor's Children, lots of material there to write about the unsung heroes and all, which you kinda are atm. What I won't do is force you to do anything or force your chars into choosing one side aka making you enter that Laer temple and setting you on the path to chaos. What I want to say is that this will be purely your choice and what you think is true to your characters, without having any foreign influences to worry about when it comes to that. As for keeping it fresh or being stale, I said at the start that I don't do lot of planning ahead this time around so that is probably shown by this classic improvisation in writing which I'm doing now in the main thread. As for mission planning, I do have an idea on what to do with us after Istvaan and it won't be go straight to Terra and lets end this. Heresy lasted for quite a while and I'm sure I can find us some stuff to do in the meantime
@DeranVendar for some reason this late I cant comprehend what your plan is right now. Could you repeat it here as if you were talking to a small child? Lol not really just simplify it for my exhausted brain? xD
No problem brother! Everyone goes down one side in three teams: Vanguard: Few melee, few Tacticals, Elijah and Denatus - Reach Objective, keep enemy on next level down from setting up strong points/digging in, secure level above the bottom/objective. Middle Group: Techmarine, Rest of our squad - Push forward after the Vanguard, protect Techmarine, hold level until rear guard make it down then immediately drop another level. Rear Guard: Rest of the Tacticals, possibly Davian - Protect rear, follow after others and prevent enemy from massing behind others until we can all consolidate on the level above the bottom/the bottom. End Game: Outlast the enemy Rough outline for ye!
Dammit, I hit a moment where I so badly want to write about Istvaan and Heresy while we are stuck here with Laer hahahahaha Post inc in 20ish mins
Hey super sorry guys, but I may need to be botted. I find myself too busy for the next day to do any good posts.
Indeed. Though in a few missions will begin the horus hersey where we eventually will make the choice of what side we are in, and both might have some interesting paths we can go in. Didn't imperials in the great crusade have abhuman regiments and beast men regiments?
