I'm not sure if he bawled all that hard, every piece of lore I've picked up on speaks more of him thinking Horus being a weak lil priss after Terra. Also yes indeed, those fucking helmets are the new pauldrons and I love it. Love every second of it. More big gruesome head wear and more importantly gimme dat World Eater with heavy bolter.
That is one thing I always loved about the Eldar, the fact they had the coolest helmets of all times, going old school with 'I am the best because I have the fanciest headgear!' And well perhaps he became like that later on, but then again every Astartes ever got super-duper angry after their primarch died, look at the Iron Hands how bitter they became and how berserk the BA became :X
Ezekyle looks more like a clone of Russ rather than Horus in that picture. If he was rocking the topknot proper it wouldn't be as much of an issue aye aye.
I don't really care all too much, everyone has a bad hair day. And I think the artist wanted to get more the 'founding days' point across, rather than how we all know Abaddon in the 41st millenium. Although I agree that he seems like a very regular marine, that is somehow exactly what I like. It shows how far one can come just through determination and will power, even if fighting for the 'bad guys' ^^
