  1. Glitz Boaz First Blood!

This game has been Pay to Win (P2W) for awhile. Just look at some of the weapons that require 10K RTC.
  2. ...

And why am i not suprised?

The problem is that they changed their mind about elites during the last few months. Originally the elites were a unique and more powerfull version of the veterans. Which were supposed to add (either by mod, or by special abilitiy) a new role/playstyle to each faction. Similar to the difference between a Banshee and a Scorpion.
When they designed that they got confronted with the p2w argument - which was at that point of time when everyone was already a paying customer who bought the full game or a founderspack- a very valid argument. The dev team replied by promising a requisition version to it, like in many other games where you can buy a flashy version for $ while the free version offers the same stats but a very basic skin.

Move a few months forward. The team got reduced, the game was not a huge success, the game went "f2trial" and Brent left. The Elites were not ready and got reworked to be pushed out for cash.
The new approach could not be "buy it with requisition" or buy it with cash because you would need to be rank 6 for that which excludes all free players right away and gives them no incentive to buy the paid version. Additionally adding a second version would require -2- skins. Everyone has their own opinion but i personally think that Possessed and Kommando skins were at best requisition quality. People would need a significantly better skin to spend 25$ on it. Thats why they went with the AP approach on the Kommando, it saved them a skin but it also highlighted the problem that the elites were not very well thought through. The free Version, despite lacking 10-15% of the LP pool of the elite often was better because the player could finetune the loadout.

BE adopted to that and buffed the LP pool of the Possessed hillariously. If the meta was not against PF and melee this thing would be a monster. However it also showed again how limited they are. The Possessed reused 90% of the existing cosmetics, has no new ability like a leap, a selfheal or an aura and is -simply because of animation and design reasons- limited to a PF instead of deamon claws and dualwielding.

The Legionaire suffers the same fate. There can't be a free version of it and the design"idea" behind it is very shallow to begin with. It's a tactical- with a bolter. If they had added an aura, had added a selfrevive, a supermagazine or anything fancy but they went with the easymode. I will admit that the skin of the Legionaire looks in comparison to the other skins atleast worth 10$ from artwork alone.

The Ranger / Autarch underlines my conclusion even further. The Ranger was replaced because they couldn't get the 2 handed longgun or the cloth physics. Instead they went with a last minute Autarch who is by role a completely different unitrole. On him they also scrapped everything which is not already ingame and the only "unique" feature we know of is that he is supposed to wear 2 Buffbanners. Something which is so flawed and broken in a bad way in this game that i cant express my feelings strong enough. IF they had reworked squad-play, UI-buffindicators and -range and every faction had gotten "leaderunits" with strong and diverse buffs an autarch or champion could work. But this will be a cheaply produced melee dude without any depth.

TLDR: I am sorry for the lenghty explination but most people do not realize that the content of the package under the label elites was redesigned and has nothing to do anymore with things that were promised or shown months ago. These are exspensive recolours of existing cosmetics and since they lack the ability and the idea how to design them to be unique they get peppered with LP to make them worth your cash.

Like? Can only think of Abbodons grace but AC kills in three shots whether you have the 10 fire aliment or not.I'd actually use a normal AC if AG didn't look so damn cool.

Most rtc weapons are worse then nomral ones due to being mastercrafted which doesn't even make them better for hte points imo.

just give the possed a sorcerer warp energy bar and a recolor of lash of slaanesh , call it tentacle pimp slap and be done with it .
  6. When you assure everybody you are not P2W but will release a Veteran with the best weapon in the current meta + firedamage for 25 Bucks

His Ranged Weapons actually apply the Ailment called "Ablaze", but the amount it applies is so short that it often just seems like an extra 10 damage.
If you use the Burst-Fire the Ailment will do 40 damage before it runs out, instead of the 30 damage it should have if it was 10 damage per shot. Hint: This allows you to kill most Eldar with a single Burst to the head ^^
With "direct fire" it also requires 14 shots to kill a LotD with his own Bolter, but you can skip the last shot and kill him with 13 shots if you let the Ablaze Ailment do its work. To comparison it takes 21 shots from a regular stock Bolter to take him down.

Ablaze is a high damage DoT that doesn't last very long and it ignores Toughness, and to an extent the Ranged Damage Falloff (because it is an Ailment).

In any case, I could really see a Plague Marine in something like the same way as the LotD, but with another skin and with Poison instead, and obviously a way to obtain it without using RTC ^^

Yep, would be highly surprised if anyone ever uses the chaos possessed marine due to the pretty much automatic death in combat due to the slowness of the weapon

In its current state the Legionnaire is in my opinion, absolutely pay to win, but I don't think it's beyond saving, I think these changes would make him a little more balanced and eliminate the main source of 'pay to win' being that the flaming ammo is not accessible without buying the Legionnaire:
    • Reduce him from 250 HP to 200 HP, and from 140 Toughness to 130 Toughness.
    • Add the flaming ammo into the advancement tree for Veteran Tacticals, priced ~100lp
    • Tweak the flaming ammo so that it either ticks for less time after you stop shooting, or simply does less damage.
