I feel like this spell is a huge detriment to your team rather then anything helpful. It takes too much energy, is too inaccurate and can even seemingly apply the debuff on allies (at least visually however I have no clue if it genuinely applies) and half the time it doesn't even seem to work even on hit. This spell could be a great offensive sorcerer spell but something needs to be done because as of now it seems almost worse then useless.
Step One: Apply Lash. Step Two: Click on the enemy. Step Three: Repeat as necessary until the whole enemy team is dead. Seriously, hitting an enemy with it once and then meleeing his face off makes any sorcerer terrifying since he can usually oneshot them with the follow up swing augmented with the damage debuff.
I still stand by the fact that it feels grossly inaccurate unless I'm in point blank range, in which case they usually hit me first and I can't get a good shot off with it.
It's the most difficult power to use, next to Daemonbolt. It needs some form of additional visual feedback ingame to help guide its use in the very least. The range is so short, and it requires a charge up, and is prone to damaging/debuffing friendlies in most situations. Contrast this with the other short range psychic ability, Warlock Destructor, which is easy to use since you can just hold down fire. Yeah, Lash needs a lot of work.
http://plays.tv/video/5804f95e67fd2e9cd6/when-a-problem-comes-along-you-must-whip-it- Made this video demonstrating how to use Lash of Slaanesh effectively, I actually think it's the best offensive Psyker spell, just one of the hardest to use too. When enemies are in that sweet middle spot of too far to melee, but close enough to whip, it's a fantastic weapon. You can even stunlock a tactical out of retaliating with boltguns or, as you saw there, plasma pistol because of the stagger it causes and the rapidly increasing damage will often make them panic.
lash is really really hard to use.I use it all the time and its still painful. I absolutely love it tho, once you use it a lot ( and i mean a lot) you start to understand its strength and get better at landing it. Of course if you want to use it you cannot have Daemonforged armor (merely 50 points over 1000 LP smh) but you can really weigh most melee combats to your favor. It can also down a shielddork with a couple hits so there's that. I feel its range is just a bit too short since 80% of the time it'll be impossible for you to use it unless you ambush them with that range; and maybe just a slightly larger hit box for it?
I like it, but...the visual effect of it versus what the description conjures in the imagination leaves MUCH to be desired about it. Honestly, did anyone else get psyched up to use it for the first time on an opponent thinking that it'd actually be a conjured whip of shadowy Chaos energy that the Sorcerer would actually..y'know, lash the opponent with. Only to then have a purple ribbon of lame fart out of the Sorcerer's hand and tickle his opponent.
It's very powerful in a specific situation. Its usefulness is severely hampered by the range and targeting. If you have anyone on your team in the fight it can be very hard to hit with. If you aren't back peddling (kiting) the cast distance is closed almost instantly by Melee. Here is a random Idea for improvement. Make it like a Channel with a purple stream connecting to the target (stream is just a visual indicator of target, could even be just casting client side). This will allow you to see if you are in range or even on the target. Keep the Cast Bar and at the end of the Cast Time the Spell goes off like normal. You can make the Channel (targeting) portion break easy so that it isn't a lock on. As it is now you can hold the button down and it just keep firing off the spell. Just keep the stream animation up as long as the spell is held down.
I just use it like a shotgun against Shield Bros. Two-three hits with LoS on a *BLOCKING* Shield Bro will bring him down for some juicy execution.
