Just give devastator classes pistols and everything will be fine.
Why we don`t have them still is beyond me. It was suggested hundreds of times.

lol, ok but I'm not even sure a LC on those maps would be topping the scoreboard either and it would only be on defense.

Well you can actually do top the scoreboard with the LC in fortress defence.At least i have managed to do it on Harkus with 15k+ im sure others have done better.

Because Woe an I play LC devs togather a lot of the time, and this last week we've put in some good time with them and I can assure you there is no way your topping the score board with a LC. And if you are, then everyone else on your team is gawd awful and very likely your team lost.

Lots of people here seem to be on board with how amazeballz the LC is which makes me wonder if they are playing it, but it takes 4-6 hits to kill a vehicle. The 4 if its in the rear (excluding Eldar tanks which are less, but good luck finding one to stay put or offer up it's rear long enough for you to score 3 hits)
-it takes ~2 seconds to lock on and shoot, ~2 to cool down, so 4 seconds unless your using MC which is 3 seconds. So that's 18-24 seconds of shooting which tells all where you are, you happen to have LoS with no issues and there is no driver.
-the vehicle is moving which is much more common now or it is concealed well enough which I would even say is the standard now, there is no way you will be killing much for vehicles. You can not stay at long range and expect the vehicle to stay put.
-if that vehicle has a gunner, you will get one shot and then have to re position as they are expecting you now. No matter the range, they are a threat to you.
-the laser is a dead give away for jump troop to go get a free kill.
-teamwork to defend you? well if you move with a squad, you are still a defenseless opponent. As well for you to be in the needed positions to get lock on vehicles is not where the squad needs to be. Melta can function here far better than a LC can and still be an asset to the team.

Long range is their defense?
-if your at long range, you have a limited LoS, and against moving vehicles they won't hang out long enough for you to spend half a minute acing them.
-run away? you know Devs move slower right?

In all honesty, I don't believe any of what your saying as practical. I will eat all I said if you show me proof, but aside from Fortress maps your vehicle killing tally and top of the score boards xp is a fallacy.

The LC is fun as hell to play but it actually needs a bit of buffing. I would even say a slight damage increase to reduce the to kill shot number by 1, and they definitely need a pistol more than any other heavy.

Again you are shit. Stick to something a bit simpler if you can't work out that fortress maps are about tank rushes, you use the best weapon to help stop all those tanks and you are going to be racking up a lot of exp.

Again you are shit. Stick to something a bit simpler if you can't work out that fortress maps are about tank rushes, you use the best weapon to help stop all those tanks and you are going to be racking up a lot of exp.

If you could read you would see my response was not focused on fortress maps and yours wasn't limited to it. Then this thread is about if LC needs extra defense.

Then the imagined butt hurt you took from it, you couldn't respond to any of it because your mad or something.

I also wasn't complaining about it, just trying to back up my claim that it was very unlikely that on non fortress maps you would be top of the scoreboard. respond with anything that debunks this other than blah blah blah your shit and I will take back all I claimed.

I suspect you can't though based on your response.

I would just like to step in here and say that your numbers are inaccurate. Cool down on LC (all) is 4 seconds, and charge up for MC LC is 1.6 seconds.

Nah, I just don't like being called a lier you presumptuous nub. Anyway carry on crying or actually just add the pistols. Hopefully then when you will realise it is just yourself that sucks and will learn how to use it properly.. or quit. Either is good.

The idea that its range is its defence is true to an extent, but the longer range you attempt to fire from the more limited firing arcs you have available, often resulting in a tank simply reversing 5 metres round a corner when it realises it is under fire and forcing you to move hundreds of metres to get a new line of sight.

If you try to use it at closer ranges, you will end up in combat at some point, and you will die. I don't think the Devastator should be great at CQC, but I do believe that they should be able to kill people, rather than flail at them until they are put out of their misery.
