Ladz I'z bin playin a few gamez wiff da oomies an dem pointy eared gits, pratendin ta be one ov dem I av! From playin I soar dat we ar too tuff! Wiff ar Big Shoota buff and extra HP we'z da biggest an da best!! Da Foight is too ezy ya gits! Seriously guys what do you all think of the changes? I'm not saying we're OP throughout the faction or anything like that but Shoota Boys are a force to be reckoned with when they go Big Shoota. Perhaps it's just the lower TTK that makes it seem so strong? As an SM and an Eldar I found a few games against us virtually unplayable at times! Granted I play Tac and DA almost exclusively so maybe this is part of the problem?
I feel that orks are one of the strongest factions (if not the strongest) right now. Not sure if OP, as they feel basically the same than before, but maybe that's the problem (also, lootas are really strong because kannons and ace dakka are top tier). So the feeling is that orks are specially hard to kill, but they also hit hard from far away.
I do better with a basic bolter over the big shoota. I think its the headshots tbh. I dont get near as many headshots with a big shoota and it really shows for my personal TTK.
Not really thought of Lootas particularly since I feel every heavy is pretty strong regardless of faction and I don't often play as them. I'm specifically thinking of Shootas and their strength with the Big Shoota (given yesterday's buff) comparative to other Tac Equivs. I'll have a few games myself but I've always found tac equivalents strong (hence why I play melee) and Big Shootas have always been my go-to for their versatility. I just reckon this recent boost to Big Shootas might have shot the class into OP territory.
Possibly. In pugs, orks will probably hold the upper hand for a while. But in return for that, we still have quite possibly the worst support in the game, the Painboy (though his position as the worst has the 'honor' of being contested by the Sorcerer and the Wolf Priest for now). So long as that remains, I will take what we can get. Tankiness and overwhelming firepower in exchange for little else. Orks are truly Tau now.
Fer da grater gud! E - good points re Painboy and PUGS vs Clan matches, not something I had considered personally.
Maybe the Big Shoota got buffed too much? Honestly I haven't found it terribly much better than it previously was other than I can turn faster with my finger on the trigger. Our Shoota Boyz were always a force to be reckoned with even with regular Shootas. I'm still of the firm opinion that because Orks don't get nearly as many new recruits as LSM/CSM, most players are facing veteran EC Ork players more often than not and getting crushed because of it. Devs really need to make us tanky and melee-oriented like we're supposed to be instead of buff Tau. I'm taking bets on when that'll be, my guess is December at the earliest.
Suuuuure the orks are to tuff. They are soooo tuff they can survive puny grenades, powerfists, bolters and such. Damage? Orks laugh while charging in the close combat while drinking in all that firepower from the enemy. Now joking aside i am ok with JPA getting the boot while kinda annoyed support was given a cardboard armor. Now i am forced to play as Shoota boy BUT it's funny seeing LSM grouping together and sniping the orks like they don't want to use their "superhuman" abilities and "elite combat skills" in close combat. As you know the devs will aquire the data for few weeks then make additional tweaks. But i agree with Lootmasta on the whole tanky and melee-oriented thing. Only problem is that if orks become more like that the other factions will whine about it while the lore guys will start infighting because of the pure lore (codexes, rulebooks) and the fiction lore (novels and such).
Sorc is pretty legit honestly. Just fight to your strengths. Been using SoC a lot lately to rain boogers down on any approaching enemies. I like to hold balconies and just rain streams of snot down on all those foolish enough to approach without looking.
To be honest, is not that the big shoota was something good before (hell, it was a pretty bad choice against the mighty shoota) but now I feel like it is ok for the cost. You cant afford extra toughness and you have less movility. The problem is the same as all the post suggest: Melee does not work as a disruptive factor no more, because of the pen values lowered and the jpa being more squishy. Hopefully we will get some buff to melee like 40% damage resist when you are meleeing and a rework to the d bash to be more like a deflect.
