Howdy all, What does everyone think about a Kommando Kamo Paint option for shootas and sluggas to take? Essentially, this would be an armor choice at exceedingly high cost (500+ points?) for orks to take, and would allow them to become stealthed while crouched similar to the striking scorpion. This would allow the orks to have some more options and make them a more unique race, allow more interesting play styles, and allow orks to break out of some of the gridlock defense situations. However, the orks aren't dedicated stealth units like the striking scorpions are, and should really focus on doing things like shooting, stabbing, and blowing up stuff, meaning that this armor option wouldn't be as potent as the options available to the striking scorpion. To prevent this from becoming overpowered there are several things that can be done: 1. High cost 500 points - as the most expensive armor option, this would severely limit the orks options with regard to gear he can bring. Essentially he would have invisibility, his primary weapon, and maybe a grenade. 2. Stealth is limited - a time period on the stealth and cooldown period would make this a cool option. It would also prevent this from becoming overpowered simply because its use becomes so limited. Example times might be 30 seconds of stealth with a 90 second cooldown. 3. Armor penalty - because the ork is essentially wearing only camo paint, the ork would become very vulnerable to enemy fire. This could be represented by a significant loss of armor and toughness. Moreover, this would prevent super tough ork infantry from popping up behind you in your base. 4. Elites only - limiting this to elites and veteran classes might also be a good option so that there aren't entire squads of stealthed units. There's already a Kommando elite option. TL;DR - Ork Kommando Kamo Paint is an awesome stealth idea, but should be made at high cost and penalty so it doesn't become too powerful.
You know...There is a Kommando Elite for orks, right? Limiting this to Elites would be pointless, because if Ork players wanted to be like a Kommando, and had the tokens to become an Elite...They could be an actual Kommando. Not a cheap knockoff that would be useless on some elites, and pointless on others, and cost a ridiculous amount of points.
there was a skarboy kommando and a cybork. a skarboy is the equivalent of a veteran, so I'm not sure a regular kommando would be an elite. unless skarboy was meant to be a hero, maybe it was I don't remember. If that's the case than a regular kommando could be an elite I guess.
The idea of giving each of the different ork 'Clans' their own flavor for something like this I feel would be pretty neat. Goffs get a slight buff to Melee Damage Deathskullz get Cheaper Loota weapons or slightly better accuracy with Loota weapons Bad Moonz get 100 extra points for their normal Boyz Evil Sunz get faster vehicle spawns/cheaper 'equipped' vehicles Blood Axes get a stealth mechanic or possibly better accuracy with shootas/sluggas to represent their 'Oomie tactiks' of actually aiming
I would love some kommando fatigues for my Ork, feel more blood axe like...or like below if this game comes out with legit customization to get my Slugga to look like a Kommando.
Yes to custom paint jobs but no to actually giving stealth to orks. I love orks but the only way they are gling to become invisible is warp fuckery (not likely) or some kind of looted stealth tech/stealth mekboy invention. I think lore wise kommandoz end so damn sneaky because the other orks are just that much more distracting usually. Plus they just tend to stay in the shadows and act all sneaky like which no one expects and therefor isn't even looking for. Best way to do sneaky orks imo> move really fast, quiet footsteps/weapons, kills from behind don't alert enemies, and they just don't show up on mini map. That way ork stealth comes down to sneaking skills and proper hiding tactics to close with enemies. Plus give them more booby trap and sabotage like gear to really emphasize sneaking. Doubt anyone would say no to some large aoe remote detonator explosives that are hard to see.
If they gave me the option and gear to look like a Kommando I would be happy with that and stick a cigar in his gob and give him a flamer I'd be good either way.
uhh you know its a Kommando Nob right? Ork WAAAGHS don't just have three Kommando nobs running around you know, they need kommandos to boss around....
