I really like how they have updated the knights. I hope that they make it into the game but i think that it will likely be post launch as all of the 4 races have a number of walkers the devs have work on first. It also feels wrong to throw them in with space marines without an Adeptus Mechanicus or imperial guard faction.
I'm actually quite happy with Knights. It's a way to have player controlled Titans. titanmidgetsyay. As for other walkers like killa-kans/dreadnoughts/etc... They would just do the same role, but for more points in your loadout.
I love Knights, and I would love to see them implemented in EC. I don't know exactly how they'd do it, because you can't just equate them to non-super-heavy walkers. you couldn't be like, the Astartes have dreads, the Eldar wraithlords, and the IG or Mechanicus have Knights. But it would be awesome to see some titan nonsense that is being controlled by players on the battlefield.
No, they've existed long before the current plastic ones from Games Workshop. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Knight_Paladins.jpg#.UykbEvldXm8 Those are some Knight Paladins from Epic. (It should be noted that Epic is a game that is about battles with amounts of tanks and infantry and Titans that would take a warehouse and a couple dozen people to play in WH40k proper.)
Knights are great. But the way they have shoe-horned super heavies into standard 40K is not. they should have remained in Apoc and/or escalation. As for being in EC, they are an established point of lore, however, I think that bE is going for a more infantry orientated game than giant robots. A dreadnaught here or there is one thing, massive war machines that can lay waste to battlefields by themselves make everything smaller than them completely pointless. So no, I don't think they probably belong in EC.
My thought is that at least including them as a walker vehicle is less lore breaky then letting people pilot dreadnoughts. I don't personally care about being able to pilot a dreadnought, because it would be AWESOME, but some people like their lore more than their AWESOME, and I would rather not hear people complain about lore breaks, and just be awesome instead.
yes they are reclicled after 20 year to be the "bigger than a dread smaller than a titan" walker for the imperium.
