LSM Player A: "Just got out of that meeting, and I am so stoked, man! They want to attack Outpost Delta-5 tonight, all covert-like. They even requisitioned special gear for us to use! This is going to be sweet!

*Looks over at the slender person beside him with a puzzled look*

LSM Player A: "You an Imperial Assassin or something?"

Eldar Player: "... For the Emperor?"

Random LSM Players in the background: "FOR THE EMPRAAAHHHH!!! EMPRAAAHHH!!! SPACE MEHRINES!!! WOOOO!!! Skulls for the Skull Throne..."

LSM Player A: "Huh... So how do you unlock that?"

..."15 minutes to the LZ." roared over the vox channels to the five man squad in the thunderhawk. Blood Angel Sergeant Lucas stood to address the solemn Space Marines, "Let's go over the mission once more. Intel reports that the Refinery we are headed towards was under Imperial control 06:00 hours ago before it suddenly went dark. Our mission is to find out why. Last transmission reported sightings of Greenskin activity nearby but that doesn't explain why we lost transmissions. Command wants us to recon the area and report back our findings. Brother Virgil pull up the map and show us where we are going to land.". The large hulking Ultramarine set aside his heavy bolter and opened up the console to show the Olipsis Refinery overview map. He pointed to a small area behind a defensive wall just outside the main Control Node Alpha. "We land here Brother Sergeant." he said plainly. Lucas returned to his seat, "Business as usually Brothers, we take defensive formation around that wall and gather more information once we land. No heroics, we don't know what we're up against out there." informed Lucas.

I didn't like it, a five man squad of mixed chapters to check up on a transmission loss out in the middle of the desert. No Intel, no backup, it smelled fishy. As an apothecary it's my duty to ensure the lives of my fellow Brothers, be they from my chapter or not, but 5 Ultramarines would have been more than enough to deal with this trivial matter. Apothecary Tannis looked around the small hold of the the thunderhawk, one Dark Angel with a plasma gun. Quiet fellow, hadn't said a word since joining up with us, what was his name? Brother Hector! ah yes. Three Ultramarine Veterans, one apothecary, one devastator, and one standard bolter loadout. Perfectly balanced, just the three of us would have been enough. One Blood Angel sergeant as squad leader wielding twin chain swords, what idiot thought that putting him in charge was a good idea? Tannis shook his head in disappointment as the thunderhawk started to descend for landing.

The five Space Marines swiftly exited the thunderhawk and ran towards the wall shown on the map. "Ultramarine Brother Hastings, you have point, go!" yelled Lucas as they spread out and converged on the first control node.

Dead Space Marines littered the ground, craters from grenades, scorch marks from lascannons, it looked like some epic battle took place here. Among the bodies of their dead brothers lay countless Ork corpses. Filthy Greenskins. Tannis looked around cautiously awaiting an ambush from the Ork marauders but none came. It was quiet, too quiet. It felt like something, or someone, was watching us. Moments later loud gunshots and crazed Ork shouting could be heard from the distance, they were shooting at something, and they were coming closer, straight for them in fact. Sergeant Lucas threw up the sign for defensive formations and we hunkered down expecting a fight. There was only five of us, how many could we take out before they overwhelmed us? Tannis looked over his shoulder back at Brother Hastings. He had known him since he was an initiate, good lad. He could tell that behind his helmet he was smiling now. He readied his own bolter and shook his head. "Youth," Tannis muttered to himself.

The thundering sound of Orkish boots came closer, they were almost upon them. Brother Hector started charging his plasma gun while Brother Virgil checked the safety on his heavy bolter. The Orks came from the back hallway of the Control node as they ran full sprint towards the small squad. Something was wrong, felt off somehow. The Orks, they looked panicked, and they were shooting their sluggas the wrong way. They were running from something. No time to think about that though as Lucas gave the order to open fire. Heavy Bolter fire ripped through the air and dug into Ork flesh, every round found it's mark as the first in line went down. Plasma landed directly in the chest of a larger Ork and melted him clean in half. Good shot. Bullets wizzed by and each bullet found an Ork. This was too easy, they weren't even firing back, if anything they looked surprised to see us here in the first place. As the first few Orks entered the room Sergeant Lucas sprang into them gutting the first and moving like water threw their ranks. He might be a Blood Angel but damn was it impressive to see him go.

When the dust settled Lucas started calling out names. "Brother Virgil?" "Sir!" "Brother Tannis?" What a prick, "Sir!" "Brother Hector?" "Sir!" So he can talk? "Brother Hastings?"... "Brother Hastings?!" The squad looked back to find a bolter laying on the ground, Brother Hastings was gone. "Spread out and find him!" Lucas yelled. Did the Orks get him? There was no blood, maybe he fled? Impossible. They searched for another few minutes before Lucas gave the order to move on the the second control node. Something definitely wasn't right.

More cautious than ever thought possible the four remaining Space Marines dashed to Control Node Bravo, the location of the communications array. More bodies, but no Ork corpses. Something was very wrong. "Sergeant, I think we should retreat, I don't like this." urged Tannis. "Not until we finish our mission Brother, we move forward! Brother Hector, check on the array." ordered Lucas. Brother Virgil took up defensive positions on the upper floor overlooking the room while Lucas checked around the place to make sure there were no more surprise guests.

Five minutes later Sergeant Lucas returned, "Where's Brother Hector? Has he not returned yet?" inquired Lucas. "He's not with you?" Tannis replied. Lucas, without saying a word sprinted up to the array while Tannis followed in pursuit. Brother Hector was gone, well, half of him. He had been severed in two by something very sharp, no Ork could have done this. Lucas turned to face me, "Where's Brother Virgil!?" Tannis just realized they had left him alone over watching the Control Node. Both Marines rushed in to find a similar fate had befallen Virgil. "Shit!" Screamed Lucas, "Eldar, no one said anything about Eldar!". Tannis nervously looked around the room, the shadows in every corner felt alive, like each one was an enemy ready to swallow them whole. A strange buzzing noise started to surface over their vox channel which quickly turned into loud static, overpowering they removed their helmets and suddenly they were surrounded. Eldar...
