?

Do you want this game to keep track of your K/D?

  1. No, thank you.

    51.9%
  2. Yes please.

    24.7%
  3. It is all the same to me honestly.

    23.4%
  1. If I gain bonuses for not dying then why would I ever risk actually pushing for a capture or making a risky charge?

It is the same situation that happens in GW2. People can just sit at a point/objective and either leave before they lose it or gain the same rewards as the people who were actively participating. I guess it is just a waiting game to see what the developers do.

Don't and you'll lose all your territory ^^

I meant bonus thanks to killstreak for example, nothing too overpowered to not over advantage good players, or bonus for standing still on a contested objective while it's actually attacked.

There are tons of ways to encourage players for surviving while playing the game, rather than penalizing them for being noobs. Moreover this is counterproductive for a game meant to be massive, PvP with most likely unforgiving mechanics, since you'll face (enraged) PvP fans and not ai, most of the time.
  4. I made a suggestion in another thread, just record stats in active areas and dynamically assign rewards based on contribution. That could be kills, deaths, captures, revives, vehicle disables or whatever.
  5. That won't matter to me if all I care about is my own progression, It won't matter to me because It's a game and losing territory doesn't bother me because I can just turn it off. (Not my actual view but that's how the majority thinks).

You literally can't implement a system that rewards not playing for the objectives.

I'm for giving you an option to turn K/D counter on/off. If you are the kind of player that likes to keep statistics, then you have an option to do it, if you don't like it, turn it off.

Or give that one which only counts positive stuff (kills you made, objectives caped etc) to satisfy both sides of community.

Also, in that post David made earlier today:
even if its very very very low priority, you can't have an e-sport without having some kind of statistics.

Considering you'll need to take objectives to progress, as there will be no vertical progression, usual mmo grinders/farmers will be in trouble... I fear they won't like this game ^^

This is not what I wrote, I suggest a system which rewards players for playing the game, rather than players for being bad. But discusing about it is actually not the topic of this thread ^^
  8. You just suggested bonuses for staying alive and focusing on kills rather than focusing on the objectives. How will I need objectives to progess by getting XP or Item Unlocks? Also you can stand around a Cap area but not help force the capture and still get the XP.

So you agree kills should not matter at all nor should deaths?

Out side of playing Space Marine and (lately) Dust, I've rarely come across shooters where teams went for the objective. Most just farmed kills.
  10. Even in dust a lot of people just farm kills because the rewards are better than winning.
