The amount of repeat topics is really getting out of hand. Sort of feel sorry for the mods or whoever is going to have to clean up the space on the servers
Yeah, It seems like I'm just sorta repeating myself a lot in these discussions. I can't be bothered writing paragraphs on the same topic over and over.
Well I guess you will probably just have a panic attack Corvus, 'cause EVERY forum has this type of issue.
K/D is the bane of team based shooters. It really did cripple Planetside 2, because half the players were mortified of pushing forward and engaging in combat that didn't give them a massive distance advantage because "but muh keyy deee!111!" If the devs really want to encourage huge armies charging in against each other, rather than sitting back and taking pot shots then hiding for five minutes, jumping out to spam frag grenades, then K/D/ needs to go. Can you imagine mobs of Orks sheltering behind cover, sometimes spraying out fire and then ducking back down the second a bolter round flies past? Emperor no, but that's what is liable to happen when half the population care more for their stats than overall score.
People just become too obsessed with the numbers and not concentrating on whats important: having fun and being as immersed as possible. Maximum immersion being defined as convincing you that your actually there in the game world. You're not playing the character. You are the character. The only thing I'd settle for is if for example Veteran SM players with say 2,500 kills get a special ribbon unlock they can hang from their armor or in their cruiser trophy area. Still, the description of the ribbon wouldn't be "Attain 2500 kills", but would be more lore friendly like "Many thousands of foes have been cleansed from this world by your sword, guided by the light of the Emperor".
I know that it isn't something that people want, but there HAS to be a scoring STRAIGHT FORWARD scoring method. I like Luthor's idea for 'X' number of kills in a campaign.
I can't see a similarity. That topic was about several things. This topic is about a yes or no poll for k/d ratios and nothing else.
I'll probably die the most, so I wouldn't like a record of that all the time. Though a kill count would be cool if you could etch the amount in your armor.
