To give you an idea: there are over 900 pages of forum members, 20 members/page. Let's subtract 100 pages from that for bE staff, people that have once made an account but forgot etc. 800*20= 16 000 forum members. If 10% buy a founders pack, you'd have 1.600 founders. 200 clickies on the poll, sure. The income from the founders action is far, far more.
That is all guess work, the poll reflects accurate (supposedly) numbers. If the founders get on here and take the poll then we will have a better sense of what was spent. If you want to start a thread on how much you think founders made be my guest. Though I do agree that there is a lot more money spent.
I purchased Captains and an extra character slot. I think Captains is a nice level of extra goodies, although the $40 one is good value, too.
I got the Sergeant pack. It was all the cash I could save up in the few months I knew about Eternal Crusade. As a student I don't have much to spare xD I am trying to get a job for the summer vacation to upgrade to Captain pack

Bought warriors pack but this isn't enough for my two characters((( want to see tau as next faction. Their units can be kroot, vespids pathfinders and fire warriors. As hero class battlesuits.
The poll is kind of a guess as well as you can't really be sure all the Founders are actually voting. Not saying the poll doesn't help but I'm guessing a LOT of people haven't posted here.
