What I'm hearing in general are the following (correct me if I'm wrong): 1) We need to get the outdated documentation cleaned up 2) If possible delay the game until we can get everything into the game that was on the poster/icon/thing 3) A detailed explanation on what the current plan, meaning what is planned for launch, what is planned for post launch, preferably with an expected timeline. 4) More [and possibly faster] transparency 5) More realism in the official updates -when telling us about timelines and goals, attempt to keep our expectations lower (happy surprises are better surprises) I'm iffy on the timeline thing, because it seems like timelines are what makes everyone angry. Tagging @Oveur for a summary of the thread without the angry.
Unfortunately the answer we just received from Nathan earlier in this thread is that nothing has been finalized yet:
Well, three years ago an MMO in WH40k was announced, two years ago Early Access to this MMO was sold to founders, year ago founders received lagging lobbyshooter with some hopes for global map and campaigns, this summer developers are going to release lobbyshooter with some intents for more maps and campaigns in a year post launch. This dynamics says that in a year we could probably play in Android App Warhammer 40 000:Eternal Crusade Go.
It's really not that bad... The campaigns and global map are a fact confirmed but not on release and it's really not that lagging -.-
You're correct that none of the SoTC's mention the 10 years of support for the game, which is worrying in itself to be honest. But they have said that this Eternal Crusade will be a "single-universe-open-world-Skyrim-RPG-with-1000-player-battles" sometime in the vague future (soon™). Nathan (@Oveur) has previously stated that the SoTC's always trump all other forms of communication from bE (except for the games Steam description I'd hope). So we have to go by them first-and-foremost before any other info. (I'd link you to thread where he said this, but I don't have access to the Founders Sub-Forum anymore). That's why I'm requesting an updated SoTC to cover our concerns regarding the Persistent World Map, Warlords and the game in general. It's been 5 long months since the last one. 30vs30 players is not an MMO. There's nothing Massive about that amount of players fighting in one instance in this day and age. The point I'm trying to make is that bE has a proven record of being consistently disingenuous with their marketing of this game. So my advice for them is to be far more transparent and far more realistic with us than what they have been. lol for some reason I always think of this here whenever I peruse this forum:
By "being more realistic", do you mean lowering our expectations on any given timeline? I'm pretty sure that bE would be fine with that. I will add "more [and faster?] transparency" to the list.
Yerp. I was hoping that was going to be the case when Nathan took over from Miguel. But that obviously didn't happen.... Is it really too much to ask for the devs to continually be as straight up and honest with us as they legally and possibly can?
They're being honest with you, and you don't seem to like it either. So what's the point? Like the case with should camera switch, it's been confirmed for ages that it's gonna be a post launch feature, yet you still have threads crying why it's not there.
