+1,the whole my guild is tired to wait Wolves, and Eldar have arrived, orks are coming, and stiil no Wolves. This game made the community tired before we even startedto play it.
What is different here is my trust is gone. Not because it was delayed. Not that not all features are in at launch. My problem is that we got a perfectly fine concept map for launch from nathan. That is as i see it a very good thing. I loved that map. I won´t nail anyone on that one thing. Things change. That is game development. But when they do i want to be kept in the loop. I don´t want to see the community force an answer out of it with these crazy rage threads. If something that was supposed to be in for launch gets cut why not say that on stream? Wouldn´t it have been better if they told us the plan posted here then? Was the stuff they posted now here just developed for the forum answer? Or was it the long term plan that was in the works before? Because if this was the long term plan why didn´t they tell us this exact thing on stream when you yourself @Lorgars-Faithful asked about it? Why didn´t they change the steam store explanations from "at launch" to goals? If i knew that all this stuff isn´t coming for launch i might have believed them about the summer release date. Because if you leave all this stuff out that now isn´t in at launch anymore i can see the summer release happening. Maybe i wouldn´t have complained so much about the release date? Remember what kind of huge outcry that was? The only reason i can see to keep this stuff unanswered before is to make the game look better for the current buyer. And this is something i will not imply anyone working on this did on purpose. Huge thank you for @BrentEllison for talking about this.
I giggled at this post =) I feel that it is an overly dramatic response though. They are technically delivering everything they layed out on their "the game at launch" Player driven Campaigns, territorial conquest, player objectives are all nonspecific terms. Even if they technically dont deliver those things thats only a very small part of the infographic they arent delivering at launch. Were talking about one feature. Its a big core feature.... but its just one feature. Im not saying "yay we got what we wanted". Im really upset too, but I dont see any point to dwelling on it anymore. Theyre gonna deliver what they can when they can. Were stuck with it. *Asheru Edit* Do not post stuff that you are not supposed to post right now...
I'll tell you something about delay. I stopped watching the Twitches a few weeks ago, because I realized that the only thing bE can show for is yet another weapon or yet another minor change of shadows or animation or spinning blades on the Jump-Pack or moving teeth on the chainsword or decorative lightnings on Night Lords armour or yet another color for the CSM healing-beam or yet another map or something equally irrelevant. We are in Alpha. bE is supposed to get the game running. And instead they waste time on decorative bullshit that can very well wait for Beta or post-launch. I realized that nothing they promised and that I'm waiting for (be it a campaign-mode or Bikes or Elites or Heroes or Space Wolves or Iron Warriors or NPC-titans or a gradually progressing background-story written by Graham McNeill) will be revealed this week. Orthe week after that. Or the week after that. So why bother? Half the game is postponed to post-launch but we will have Space Wolves-beards. YEAH!!! PEOPLE WILL BUY THIS LOBBY-SHOOTER BECAUSE THE SPACE WOLVES HAVE BEARDS!!! bE made promises. Big ones. And they made them loud and proud. And when they realized that they cannot possibly fulfill their promises, bE didn't have the guts to tell the truth and scurried around until their failure became embarrassingly undeniable.
I know everyone didn't sign on for a lobby shooter, but match based games don't always die right away. Especially if there is shit to grind. People love grinding gear. Hell TF2 is still pushing 57,000 users right now, almost 9 years after initial release. I want open world. But if the try and release everything and everything is broken the game will die. I think trying to release a well balanced polished lobby game, and then pushing out the next content might be better in the long run (although I do want everything now, because I am a child).
TF2 has hats though! And balance... Edit- And it wasnt supposed to be an open/seemless world for some time.It started as a lobby shooter and is still a lobby shooter.
Are you referring to "open world" isnt just one feature? or that theyve broken many hopes and dreams along the way? If were gonna calculate all sins then yeah thats alot of features that never made it. Im just trying to understand better what you mean by not only one feature.
I think it is time to move from this discussion. It started reasonable but changed into backyard brawl. Everyone expresed their feelings. Some choose to trust devs others don`t. Let`s just try to stay calm and let them work. In 3 months we will see how the things are going. By posting the same opinion over and over again whatever it is noone will help devs in work. Whatever game will be at release and after this some will like it, others will be nagative. Personally I feel satisfied that we have some answers from Nathan and Brent. P.s. So what about maximum players per match? Any hopes it will increase in 3 months?
