Want to see a good dev team that delivers what it promised and is super transparent with its community and actively takes criticism both good and bad? Check out Albion online. Yeah its a small company and the game is not a massive scope, but they pitched what they could deliver and they had the community 100% involved the entire way. Everyone is happy. Hell items and stuff in the game even got named after notable people on the forums. This shit is not hard to do, it takes actual honesty and the acceptance of feedback on the part of the developers, good or bad.
You ate the quiche. Also, you don't know me, so don't call me a gullible customer. I speak up when I feal its needed; otherwise it's wasted words.
At this point guys, I really, really think we need to pull back and take a deep breath. This news, while disappointing is not -that- bad. If you are reasonable here, nothing is really changing... for the last year we have been playing (and enjoying) this game for what it is, waiting for patches to come out to make it better. So, whats different? We have a delay? We've had many, they are annoying, but as Nathan pointed out, they are just as disappointed as we are. They are the ones up every day, every night and sometimes on their weekends (I'm looking at you, Noisemaker and NoahWard!) working their tails off to give us the best product they can give. No one is devilishly giggling behind a curtain at our displeasure at the delays, and I really think we need to take this into consideration. Do I think this was handled poorly? Yes, I do. It was a crappy way to find out about this information. (And in my honest opinion, I think the game should be held back rather than released without this content.) Do I think it changes -anything- about how I've been experiencing this game? No I do not. I play, I wait for patches. I continue to enjoy what I play with new stuff. I know there are a lot of very angry people out there (I love you Algernon! You're my favorite Loyalist out there!) but please try to take a step back and look at this critically. You gotta remember the devs are people too and they're working hard to make this game for us.
Yeah, the direction isn't great. It's not where everyone thought we would be going, and I am sad to hear that we are moving to a lobby shooter at launch. Going through garrison, hopping into a thunderhawk or landing in a drop pod somewhere (or a warp rift for the heretics or a giant catapult for the greenskins or whatever) sounded incredible. I am just hoping people think about it from the guy's perspective who has changed every line in the melee code and still can't get the damn thing to work like it is supposed to, before tactfully attempting to post criticism (not that any of yours hasn't been tactful, this thread blew up and I started skipping forwards when manchild and memes made there way into the boards).
Yes, hearing about it unprepared through third party is what made all this mess viral. I hope game can survive through launch phase to keep multiplayer populated enough for campaign to be implemented.
Everyone chill any more posts pop up about personal bickering or insulting each other and I will delete em. This isn't your personal playground to call each other names or post trash talking posts trying to get a response out of someone else.
I'm more concerned about the game's population now. When it releases without the REAL content, this game won't last very long on the market. It's trying to cash in on the neckbeard popularity of Warhammer title alone in my opinion. Another 30v30 lobby shooter is nothing impressive.
