And now I remember why I stopped. It literally hasn't changed since last time I played. Same as usual. A certain group of clan members were all partied up, tearin' everyone a structurally superfluous new behind. Vengeance Launcher spam everywhere. That weapon was a cool concept, but people used it in a way it wasn't intended, and now its really annoying.

Lascannons. Why are they in the mp? They're anti-tank/vehicle, yet the only vehicle in the mp ( the dreadnought ) is seemingly unaffected by it. I didn't see any Plasma Cannon spam though, so that was nice.

Although it hasn't helped that I had to get used to the controls again. After playing Loadout so much, everything felt so...slow. Of course, its not the game's fault that I suck.

Alright, rant over. I just had to get that off my chest. Share some Space Marine mp experiences here if you like. Whether they were awesome, or lame.
  2. No offense but the point in this post? I don't see any. It's a shame about the situation, but if you would like to play the game the way you'd want to, play it with friends and state "not allowed to use launcher or lascannon because they are cheese". Problem solved.

I'll be frank with you, I'm pretty sure EC will address and solve all the "problems" with Space Marine Multiplayer. On top of that, most of the problems with Space Marine multiplayer is result of which that (even Relic have admitted this themselves) those members of the team who were assigned to put it in, requested to do so and they couldn't give a royal stuff about Warhammer 40 000 or it's lore. They simply wanted to make a 3rd person multiplayer arena shooter, they treated the weapons and the game as standard fair sci-fi, they didn't care for the lore, then approached GW and the people in charge of the project with their idea, did a big enough song and dance to convince them and it was added. Those same people are also 1) big Halo, Quake, Gears of War and Unreal Championship fanboys, so naturally wanted their own little shot at it. (no surpise there) 2) They don't believe in or think that MMOs for action combat or fps games would be successful and that there isn't a market for it.

Clearly since Halo Multiplayer and Gears of War multiplayer is so popular and Planetside 2 and other large scale PvP concentric MMOs are not popular your belief is correct is it not? (*sarcasm*)
Pretty sure this is 2014, not 2004 guys... things have changed a lot since you were teenagers.

I love Relic, great studio, great development team, awesome people. But I do not agree with some of the really negative and short sighted disrespectful opinions of a few of their staff members, in particular the guys who worked on multiplayer for Space Marine and yes they are still with Relic, while the guys who did singleplayer are not...

I actually love the game and its one of my all time favorites. Cant really explain why (but ill have a go at it anyway).

Firstly (imo) it is very dependent on what you'v taken in as "good fun/good game" in the past. like if your a hardcore fan of certain titles and you enjoy those games more than any other, then your likely to judge other games by those merits. I think a lot of good games get slated because the people that play them are expecting something else.
Space Marine for me, i didn't get it at release, didn't really pay that much attention to it and one day saw it on sale for £7 so i got it (xb360). Got home, played single player like for weeks cuz i wanted to beat it on each difficulty, find all the loot etc.. anyway i never played online and then when i did i got my ass kicked by everyone and there dog, and the fleas on that dog... but i progressed and got better. (thanks ROM-A-NOM-NOM-NOM! and xDAx guys :D )

Thing is i enjoyed it all despite loosing a lot, despite plasma bugs, and all the rest that was horrid. It had a good feel to it, i know Space Marine 2 would have been another good title.

Now a few years later I decide to buy it again on steam as i haven't had a 360 for a while. Enjoying it again as much as i did the first time :)

Thanks to the people that made that game, I ENJOY IT!

    END

The point? I dunno, I kinda wish I hadn't even made this thread now. It was late, and I was just a little irked at the time. Is there a way to delete your threads?

But don't get me wrong. I love the game too.
