Hotshot. The Imperial Storm Troopers fire Hotshot Lasguns able to punch through power armour. Authors give certain IG Regiments Lasguns with a Hotshot capability. They fire as a normal Lasgun most of the time, but against heavily armoured opponents they can fire a Hotshot at the cost of a considerable amount of the power cells charge. Similar design, but inferior materials. Most of the Boltguns belonging to non-Astartes seem to have a lower fire-rate than their Astartes counterparts, many are described only when firing single shots. The Bolters of the Sororitas are different. They use a variant of the Godwyn pattern which strongly suggests an equal level of design and construction to that of the Astartes Godwyn pattern. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Boltgun#Godwyn-De.27az_Pattern
Do you mean semi-auto? Cause I could also believe that they'd be single shot, but it seems a tad inefficient even for 40k.
You can shoot a 12g one handed, just needs to have a gas system to offset the recoil. As a 12 yr old kid I shot a spaz12 one handed goofing off just like you shouldnt do but ya other than a slightly jarred wrist..
Eh, mine doesn't have a gas system to my knowledge, just a plain pump, not a particularly long barrel. I was shooting it a while back and thought to myself that I could totally 1 hand this thing, and I did. Heavy recoil of course(went up like 90 degrees) and couldn't fire it again rapidly(obviously because pump action) but it was manageable. Granted I was just using birdshot, haven't tested buck and I'm confident a slug wouldn't be a good idea.
