Similar data but different sources, I didnt notice the post talking about an imperial guardsman in possession of even a single bolt round would be killed. My bad.
well,I mean, what is the different between space marine bolter with Imperial guards' villian weapon? Are they the same ?
In addition to what that one guy already said, the Sororitas are also more resistant to the taint of Chaos than Space Marines, with the exception of the Grey Knights.
Imperial Guardsmen use laser guns that don't have a solid projectile. They're a lot cheaper, easier to manufacture, and their power cells can be recharged from a wide variety of energy sources, including just tossing it into a campfire (though that particular method damages the power cell so is typically only used as a last resort). They vary in effectiveness from author to author, with some authors giving them a supercharge mode that expends much more energy but gives it the power to pierce a Space Marines armor, while other authors have the laser shots be absorbed nearly harmlessly by Flak armor.
well, actually i'm asking tje weapons for the heavy weapon squad like the autoconna and some kinda heavy machine guns(forget the actual name),and the weapons use by Inquisitors or some Elites, are they the same bolter or metal gun with space marine versions?
Autocannons aren't bolt weaponry. They're more like conventional firearms we use today. Same with heavy stubbers (heavy stubbers, IIRC, are basically .50 cal machine guns, and autocannons are similar to a Bushmaster turret on a Bradley). And some people mentioned earlier that the Heavy Bolters, Bolters, and Bolt Pistols used by non-Astartes personnel fire similar projectiles to the Astartes versions, but those rounds are fired by different weapons that cause less recoil and aren't as heavy.
You are comparing a modern day rifle for normal humans to an advanced firearm created by a galaxy-spanning civilization with access to advanced weapon technologies and sciences that are far beyond anything we currently have or know of. An Astartes bolter is designed for giant super warriors, who have superhuman strength and wear power armor, and is intended to kill almost anything it comes across. Not only that, but the lore itself states "a human trying to fire such a weapon would likely suffer a recoil of such strength that it would rip their arm from its socket." (Dark Heresy: The Inquisitor's Handbook, pg. 173) Astartes can handle the extra power. A normal human's body cannot.
I don't know if it's exactly the same ammo, it may be somewhat smaller or designed to give less recoil, and I'm not sure whether it's actually been clarified. But basically, yes, the boltgun an Astartes uses is much larger, heavier, and has more recoil than the boltguns used by Sororitas, Commissars, Inquisitors or IG officers (or other non-Astartes humans).
My dad remembers reading a science journal with an article about a successful test of an orbital plasma weapon back in the 90s. But he's never been able to find anything about it again, and he does have some other memories he knows for a fact are false, so this could be one of those.
