Just a question, can a human without a power armor use the bolter?

IIRC, they tried building a robot army to fight for them. In predictable sci-fi fashion, the robot army rebelled (no, they were not Necrons). And now the Imperium uses the Machine Spirit to run all of their electronics, instead of AI. If I remember correctly, AI is actually forbidden in the Imperium because of how badly the whole robot army thing went.

On topic though, further evidence for ordinary humans being able to use bolt weaponry is that Sisters of Battle have them as their standard equipment. Sisters of Battle, despite being in terrific physical shape because of all the training they do, are just ordinary humans when it comes to their actual physical bodies. They do wear power armor though, which might help somewhat, but I don't think it enhances their physical capabilities like a Space Marine's armor does.

The quote from that one lore story suggests that an untrained human would suffer catastrophically from picking up their first boltgun and just firing off its .75 caliber rounds. But there are more than a few videos on YouTube of people firing their first .50 cal Desert Eagle pistol and getting a faceful of metal from the recoil, despite some humans being able to wield them without that happening (I presume so, because otherwise why keep making and selling them). So it might just be that that hapless Guardsman was totally unprepared and untrained for the recoil, and another human who is used to bolt weapons wouldn't have that problem. Also, bolt weapons don't fire their rounds like an ordinary firearm, each round uses a small charge to just exit the barrel, at which point a rocket motor lights up and propels the round the rest of the way.

Ah. I don't watch that show.
  6. Actually Sister of Battle are more than "normal people",though they are not as badass as Space Marine.Well, accroding to their history, they are not as same as the normal human even in their earily history, they are bron to fight.
  7. hasn't this topic been answered already. Yes humies can use bolter, but they need to be certain patterns. The space marine one is just the biggest of the group
  8. Like camo

  9. I prefer a comparison with the AA12 myself. Especially when it is firing Frag-12's.

All Sisters Of Battle, like Commissars, and Imperial Storm Troopers, started out as orphans of Imperial officials/officers sent to a Schola Progenum.
Most of the children end up as either functionaries for one Adeptus or another, or end up joining the Imperial Guard.

But the best are chosen, to become SoB, Commissars, Storm Troopers, etc., you get the idea.

So Sororitas are normal humans, just with specialist training and power armour.

bolter for human are different pattern: because am human cannot use an astarte bolter.
    why?

because the handle are made from a different size, and human simply can't hold correctly an astartes weapon.

(even in the case he have the strength for use it and is capable of overcome the bio lock and he is capable of perform the correct rite for the machine spirit).

this is the main reason why human size and sororita size bolter are different pattern.
