As always I point out in my crusade in this fucking forum. the problem is the d-bash not punishing this kind of behaviour and the lunge being to long. And the perfect example of this is just right at the start, and if you want exact time, look at 0:09 : The guy d-bashed the JPA, then proceds to do a charged attack wich SHOULD connect (brent said that the rules on melee should be someting like 2 fast attacks with knife or 1 charged attack after dbashing a melee specialist) And the funny thing is that, besides the JPA is just the best pistol and sword melee because of the jetpack with no big downsides, not only JPA can make this! A experienced Ground Assault will do the same with rolls, will be stunned the same amount of time and there is nothing you can do about it! @BrentEllison @Oveur I hope you check this post
I cannot tell from the animated gif of the video (cannot watch true video due to copyright), but I have seen this a few times before with Chaos Marines (Traitors). There are a few common denominators: 1) Seems it is always a "Jump" class with a melee weapon 2) There are many other players within close combat range 3) I "witness" it when I am experiencing game performance issues, even if I am not one of the players being attacked. Here is my verbal description of it, please feel free to chime in. The attacker is always a Jump Class-Air Assault, Raptor etc. A) The defending players look like they are just standing there dumbfounded B) The attacker is moving and killing with impunity C) The attacker seems to have no movement issues D) The attacker moves in very fast spurts and is impossible to hit My theory: I believe that this is a combination of a "perfect storm" of conditions: That being poor server/game performance in which the player with the least performance issues wins. Also, the player who is slaughtering everyone has his/her graphic settings as low as they can go. The player who is doing the slaughtering has come to this same conclusion by playing and observing and analyzing. Confirmed by guild testing. Also confirmed by observing one player in my guild who seems to slaughter all and is always at the top of the heap. If this was a "common" issue, many players would know and try to duplicate it. Instead, it seems like a one player in 50 issue, where very few players have tested and analyzed it enough to duplicate such a combination to "exploit" either intentionally or unintentionally. I really cannot conclude anything else based on what I have seen. Would love to know what others think, but just be aware that some players who have benefited from whatever it is, are likely to troll any and all opinions that get us closer to solving it, in order to preserve its nature for their own use.
Yeah a thread a day but I thought with the video it might bring it into focus for some people. Maybe even the developers.... If I hadn't seen the video I wouldn't have made the thread (and I wouldn't have called anyone out for it TBH, if it's in the game use it is my approach to EC, cheese it if you want to, that's up to you but it's in the game so it's fair play is my attitude!) Is it more important than cosmetics? Surely yes. But the cosmetic team and the mechanics team are two separate things. Although looking at the state of melee currently you can imagine they let an art designer take a shot at making it.
What are you talking about???? Open your eyes, don't you see that it's the pure skill and nothing more??? =) At least sm/csm jump assault dudes can finally feel themselves invincible.
I see. Well, then for now, at least for me, if I need to quickly catch an opponent trying to escape after rolling I just charge a heavy attack and cover distance, I think heavy attack lunge should remain for precisely that purpose - catch opponents trying to escape
Lol! Imagining some guy spamming RMB like a masturbating monkey shouting "Git gud noobz!" at the top of his lungs now!
