I had fun at the start , I joined a great guild and had some pretty good matches but I just don't enjoy the game any more its really hard to just sit through two matches without feeling mildly depressed and angry. The main issue is I can handle bugs or lag or other technical issues but I cant handle knee jerk balancing by Devs that don't even play classes or have no idea what they are doing. My main gripe is I love support I loved the painboy but they have really screwed over an already broken class , they even targeted the skip launcher that proves they have no idea what is going on. I just want to heal but with laggy fortress maps this class is reduced to tossing crappy jugs ever X amount of time instead of being an actual healer per say. Orks AV never really got fixed it kind of got nerfed a bit more With free to play on the horizon things are taking an ugly turn for the worst I'm guessing they will revert to the free to waaagh model and we will get infested with all the free players god only knows what these Devs will do. Peace out it was fun I hope every one who stays has the best of time and at least enjoys themselves .
Orks are doing well, even if our faction's current gameplay does not really mesh all that well with the lore (Green Tau ftw). No need to throw in the towel, man.
I can see where the OP is coming from. I for one end being extremely frustrated with most pug games anymore. I think part of the problem is that devs are forcing to much of the team play aspect on people. Without voice chat however that kinda thing just isn't gonna fly. Not to mention that teams performance is heavily based on equipment. I have seen way too many games where one side has only me as a rank 6 maybe two rank foves and pretty much everyone else is rank three or lower against a stacled enemy team of 75% rank 6 players or even an entire team. I've gotten to a point where I know my team will lose based on their first two minutes of game play. When that happens I just leave the match. Most of the time the team won't even listen to veteran players when we lay out battle plans. For me its not the game itself thats unfun its a lot 9f the people I have to play with that ruins the match.
You realize the patch has been out for less then 2 weeks. They have already said in multiple places that they are looking at more balance changes, However they want the data to pile up from players instead of just veterans. The more data they get the more accurate the changes can be. Just because you think you know the best change possible doesn't make it the right one for the entire community. Yes support got a nerf however it was needed. Majority of players took support instead of the objective focused classes. The easiest example is everyone took apothecary over tactical marine because they were just better at killing and surviving. Your complaint about the laggy fortress map is your concern, Whilst they might not be the best optimized maps I am running on a 5 year old machine and I have no issues on the maps at all, My FPS remains consistent and under extreme situations it will drop but it never goes below 30 which is more then reasonable considering the age. If you don't like the way the class plays shelve it for a while and play something else, You want to heal but your only complaint about healing is the maps causing low FPS/lag which you say you dont care about and can handle. Turn your graphics down.
I feel you man the f2w isn't going to be reverted as they are letting the free players join any faction thus why our race is still such a small % of the player base since everyone is flocking to LSM and going to CSM when the queues are long. I'm really bleh about the state of the painboy and ended up breaking a week and coming back to play a bit. I would suggest just breaking and playing another game for a month or 2 and checking back in a month or so... If it still feels bad keep playing other games and check back a month after that... After 6 months if the game still feels bad just say fuck it and shelve it and if it's around in a year or so and gets a major update check it then... If it's not better then... Well then the game is done for you and there's no reason to keep checking. I keep getting fed up with the game because there's been so few QOL changes for orks and just general lack of care given to orks since they were added to the game.. It feels like they are focusing super hard on LSM>CSM>Eldar>Orks in that order... We've been shafted out of 2 weapon types and are still missing all of our chest cosmetics and quiet a few of our RTC weapons. We haven't gotten our Pioneer pack items to those of us who invested in it and in general it seems the devs have given a very *we have your money no real need to make you happy* mentality when dealing with orks. Noah seems to be one of the few devs who actually cared about orks and since he's taken over as lead game designer there's a good chance we'll actually start giving love.... That's the one reason I haven't given up all together yet. Anyway yea.. Take a break and come back later if that's what needs to be done by you... I'm not going to judge as I've taken breaks when I get demoralized or pissed off about something as well. This is mainly directed at the support thing... It was fairly rare to see ork supports as they were the worst in the game pre patch... And are even worse off now. The devs even said the painboy was the least performing support of all of them and yet they never did anything about it. There's supposed to be things in the works for them but currently there's nether hide nor hair of what is really being done to help them. They are still the least performing support btw as they are limited to combat level melee and pistols which have super short range before damage falloff.
Many of my guild members are taking breaks from the game too. This patch has removed a lot of fun from the game. Damn shame too. But I do agree at the sentiment that orks feel like second class players in EC. Has there been a major patch where LSM haven't gotten a game breaking toy since launch? And we're still missing several items... lol.
It's because we have the lowest population. Orks have been one of the lowest priorities since launch because they know there are so few of us. It's best to focus on what will pull in the money which in ECs case is the LSM and CSM with the Eldar and Ork being a minor footnote. The only things the ork have got since they were introduced are a few nerfs and a few cosmetics. No weapons or gameplay altering items. We did however finally get a quality of life change being the kannon can now reload while braced...Not like we've been asking for that since launch or anything lol.
