Of course they never admited that Nathan was there to salvage EC, but it was pretty obvious, given the context of the massive changes to the scope of the game, Miguel being pulled from the game and all the other staff turnover. Defiance was a messy clusterfuck, but I enjoyed it until they brought in the Alcatraz update... I mainly enjoyed it, because it had actual PVE content.
If anyone non-biased from this community looked at this argument, you'd be the one to look dumb and ignorant because even though we both quit EC, you're trashing it and the devs for the wrong reasons. No, devs aren't incompetent, you can't prove that because the reason EC is doing so badly is because there's practically 5 devs working on it with the exception of the non-progress making devs like QA, community managers, nathan and so on. No matter how skilled they are, no team that big would be able to produce content and progress as fast as everyone here wants. However I will agree with you if you said the Behaviour as a company is slightly incompetent/illogical as they're the ones who let a handful of people work on a game they'd make the most money out of compared to their other games. That being said, the reason I quit EC is because of lack of content, updates and general replayability. And why is that? Because there's almost nobody working on it and the company gave up on it that's why. I'm not as simple and primitive as you to say "I hate this game so I'll just say EVERYTHING is wrong with it and add some lies to make myself feel better"
I completely agree on that one. With attention and love from the company (maybe a dev team stockup by 30 people and more money) this game could be so much more. And since the most people here either have bought or still buy the not really cheap Citadel miniatures, I guess the target audience would not hesitate to pay good money. But without investment from the high echelons, progress creeps.
This revolutionary Open-World MMOTPS was initially fully funded. With an extra 5 million dollars from the Canadian government on top of that. Then extra hundreds of thousands of dollars from the tens of thousands of people that were duped into the Founders & Early Access scams on top of that. When Nathan "The destroyer of dreams" came onboard he took 3 months to assess the situation of the development of EC, and came to the decision to massively cut the fully funded plan down to a far more simple and doable plan: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/just-the-facts-about-world-maps.55505/page-34#post-1167290 They haven't managed to get the game anywhere near to what they said they'd be able to get it to. I totally standby my sincere opinion that bE and it's devs are ludicrously incompetent, and have been incredibly disingenuous in their marketing of this game. And it rightfully pisses a lot of us off that they made millions of dollars from this outright cash grab. Only having "practically 5 devs working on it" now just proves this fact without a doubt even more so By the way I have never said that "EVERYTHING is wrong" with the game. As it does have one thing going for it. That being set in the Warhammer 40K universe. I'm confident that almost everyone here on this forum would never even have given this mediocre Lobby Shooter a second glance if it wasn't
To be fair though, as someone who has played Defiance, it was an okay game. Actually, it's pretty fun since you can get the vast majority of content in the game without paying real money, outside of the DLCs.
