For my post TL;DR: Voice communication does not have any impact on man to man combat. There's nothing you can tell your nearby team mate that he doesn't already know. For example... if your random group has a good support, they will be constantly on the lookout for downed allies nearby. There's no need to ask on voice for it. A good support will already know... and if that's not enough, it's not hard to hit V-2-1. When you go down, being in a clan It does have an impact on objectives and the match outcome. Clans will win games... but I do not believe this makes that combat more frustrating. As for loadouts, that's also something an individual can take into their own hands. Provided a random group is comprised of mostly good players, they will all decide what is needed most at what times. Good players will take anti-vehicle equipment as necessary etc.
you can tell everyone to stop jacking off and get to C, or to flank while you shoot. can't type all that as fast or effectively.
Thanks for your relevant, helpful and most certainly not asshole-y response. In other news, the devs have stated that they have absolutely no plans to change the MM to prevent this, instead relying on the sportsmanship of clans to only allow themselves to fight in the competition mode. Which is complete bullshit as we can see here, clans love stomping pubs. Best course of action is to either quit if you really need to win for some reason, or just grit your teeth and farm XP for 10 minutes before you lose.
Planetside 2 tier open world would fix most of the pub-stomping problems but we will not be seeing that in our lifetimes.
Last i heard from nathan (haven't watch the stream from the 10th) he posted on the forums that MM to put new players aginst new players was under way which should help this somewhat for new players at least.
At this point I've learned that spotting a full stack of any guild is an automatic loss since I play solo. Premade squads are irritating but manageable, but the whole enemy team? "Lol" *Leave Match*
Seriously, this is how it is most of the time, in my experience. I play a lot solo, but I've been in VOIP groups of various sizes, with more than one guild. The communication advantage mostly amounts to "everyone hit C now" or the complex tactics of "You three go B, everyone else stay here". Now, this does actually have quite an advantage because if you have 5-8 guys hitting your point at the same time, you'd best have those numbers or more yourself because the first volley is going to cut down 1-3 of your team. However, I've seen this work for complete pugs as well, when myself or someone has typed out "Everyone into the Rhino, we're going B" and you get 5-8 of your squad doing so. Probably the biggest actual advantage is being able to quickly call out things like "Two guys coming up the north stairs", which makes a VOIP group less likely to be caught by surprise. But you've still got to have the skills to take them down...
I can appreciate the difficulties clans have with the way the game forms matches but for goodness sake! This is disgraceful and shows a total disregard for fair play. Participants of that stack should be ashamed of themselves. The game let me do it, the game makes me do it or whatever other excuse you come up with... really!? Perhaps I am expecting too much. If the player base cannot self moderate and even the moderator of this very forum participates, then it's time the developers stepped up and dealt with it. Fair play is too important to allow this kind of activity to continue. I will be watching this thread closely.
We fight clans all the time. We hope every match that pops is against them, those are the fun matches. We don't like seal clubbing, we use silly antics and crazy builds a lot during pugs. We did one game where we went only knives as DAs (we still won). Hell, we have clans that dodge us every time now and that fact makes us sad. We would play solely against clans as a group if we were fucking able to. But there is no matchmaking for it. At all. Other guilds are in the same position as us, they want to fight clans, they cannot always fight clans. There are clans that only want to pub stomp, but I will not name them. We win most of our clan v clan matches btw. Edit: Forgot to mention we all had challenge tokens on said knife DAs. We play with our friends, sue us. Also, every week at this time for literally months is when we run our squad training. We practice communication between squads and tactics. It is our one weekly scheduled op, and it runs for three hours. If we could get put up against other clans during training, we'd absolutely love it. When it's not training time, we generally are running 5-6 at most.
