hmmm, can Space Marines swim? Or for that matter, can anyone in the Warhammer 40.k swim? Games Workshop have never really touched on the subject.
Space marines don't need to swim, they can walk along the bottom of the ocean, which they would need to do, because they are too dense to float. There is supposedly some story about a spacewolf and a sea monster, but IIRC the wolf wasn't in his armor. Everyone else should reasonably be able to float, or likewise has sealed armor and be able to walk along the sea/river-bed. Chimera are amphibious. It's a thing that doesn't come up much. Once you have easy space flight and aerial insertion, having water capable troops becomes much less important. You have to be able to ford rivers, but beyond that, it's not really a concern (in most cases).
