it seems to have some mechanics designed for tactical play. Like the chain control point maps, where only two cp's are contested at once, makes everyone focus on them
Lol, someone makes a post about nature of the game, everyone's there, someone posts about how they'd like mustaches, some people show up. Hey guys, I've a great idea, how about we add Ork vs Orks and see how that plays, this sounds like a totally good idea because sarcasm is a thing. As I've brought up in the past though, in all seriousness, it's how you play. The current strategy is smash your way through, screw around with something and see if it breaks, and follow someone who actually has a plan. Tactics really don't go beyond your person, however there are healers who accompany you, stay behind cover, fight the assault who dropped in, etc, there are those with HBs(Stalker too right, but it doesn't seem as frequent) who supress their enemies while not always killing them, assaults, who if your observant and a half decent shot, can disrupt enemies while they try to kill him, allowing others to shoot, and so on...so again, I'm hoping the point is made that the tactical element is there, it's just not always taken advantage of and it is just as satisfying to say Wagghh and repeatedly bash your head against an enemies sword, perfectly fine.
I can't think of much to add that others haven't said. Just that the desired goal for the game is to be a massive teamwork oriented game from a squad level to the whole faction in a persistent territorial warfare with good a campaign system & meta that has meaning (it better have meaning) + player leaders, so that's tactical. Tactical in terms of individuals then there will be a character customization with limited point load out system, class progression and cosmetics. What, cosmetics aren't tactical you say? Balderdash! Fashion Souls is important! We're all going to destroy everything that's not us (orks & eldar less so because xeno BFFs) while looking good doing it damn it! Er anyway, tactical in terms of weapon performance and such is too early to say with so much not in yet. Well that can actually be said about the other stuff too but still. The plan is there and of course part of that plan is to make the combat stuff feel good & fun since that's the core of the game. ----------- There are also these in case you or anyone else haven't seen them: State of the Crusade IV - The Road to Open World. <- details on opening up to provide large scale battles Forum Q&A Answers Compilation Thread. Can see their past livestreams on EC's official Youtube channel, here. There's also the Twitch Episode Summaries thread in the announcements sub-forum but has since been discontinued. There have been some twitch episode summaries on the EC reddit though. Lastly, a good bit of info to know, this thread here with Nathan Richardsson (Oveur; Senior Producer) talks about plans for expansions after launch. In short: expansions with gameplay elements will be free (such as Terminator equivalents planned for the first expansion 2-3 months after launch as well as new battlezones) and they will be accompanied by swag & bundles that do cost moneyz. Being able to play as a new faction will likely also still cost moneyz, unaliving them won't.
you have realized that you have asked if a game about daemons space elves space ork and super soldier genetically modifed, and in addittion to that they use melee as a perfect valid tactis while they can use orbital bombardment from space ship and intercontinental missile will have a"realistc/simulative" approach?
