When someone asks you if The Emperor is a god, you say yes! Sorry if that's been said before, I just had to say it. To the average man, he certainly has godlike powers, but he is still mortal, and can be killed. He'd have been dead long ago if not for the Golden Throne. As has been said, we know what gods are in 40k. Tzeentch, Nurgle, Khaine, those are gods.
