  1. No. The Emperor himself established the "Imperial Truth" ideology to rid mankind of all religion. He would be disgusted to see himself worshiped as a god by the imperium. Thankfully The Adeptus Astartes still revere him as a Warrior "demigod". The rest are the true heretics *cough* Ecclesiarchy

I don't know what to think of the Emperor I've heard him called a God and I've heard him called just Emperor and I've heard him called a Chaos God at one point so I'd say God Emperor for I hear that far more often the anything else

As long there is the term "Chaos Gods","Deamons"and everything else that Science "cant" solve, the Emperor will be still Worshiped as a God !
And as long the Chaos "entities" still called Gods and Deamons, and can still corrupt imperial minds,body,hearts...then i dont see nothing heretical in the Ecclesiarchy, worries!

I am one of the supporters of the meaning "God Emperor" and his Angels of Death, after the Horus Heresy !
    Emperor forsaw "A" future !
If we remember what the Horus visions was, (I dont want to Spoil) from the Chaos Gods, before his fall to Chaos, then,we have a small picture of what the Emperor true vision was ! But that is just a Universe that the Emperor had an option to create(?) !

Remember, that only the true divine, denie their Divinity !!
  4. Good point. In "The Last Church" the Emperor met a priest named Uriah Ulathaire. He said that if the emperor would strip humanity of a god, than mankind would in turn worship him in return.
In false god the iterator syndermann was a devout follower in The Imperial Truth. When decoding the Book of Lorgar he summoned a deamon which went against his belief of a godless universe. Also can't a largely worshipped idol be transformed into a god by the warp? You make a good case. However I believe they are going off the pre- golden throne bound emperor.

  5. The Emperor is also basically the collective powers of all ancient Terran psykers. This means that he is the creation of man which opposes the belief that "Gods create their worshippers".

Yes and no, hes not quite at the level of the terrible chaos gods but I think he can grant his blessings however due to the size of the imperium they will at least seems very rare. And if nothing else he as achieved the status of god.

So, if magic is science in another name, and science is the understanding and unveiling of magic or the unexplained. Then surely Godhood is the unexplained or 'magic' as well.

And once a language like science can unravel it, explain it, decode its genome and re-create it. Godhood is no longer a mysterious magical force but a tangable thing that exists in one, many or no states.

Till then Godhood is just a name for the unexplained like magic till science understands it, and therefore the name 'god' only exists as a tool to lable what we cant yet understand.

And as we cant hope to understand the unexplained untill we have the tools to do so, The Emperor of Man's asscention to godhood can only be speculation.

Like a child calling the sun in the sky a god, then growing up to realise its a ball of immense power in an obscure corner of a galaxy. One day we'll have grown further to understand the deeper natures of existence and be able to call god by its true name, not a sun or a rotting carcass sitting in a life support system syphoning souls from eternity's edge to keep itself alive. But maybe something else, no longer the miss understood such as magic.

He is not a god in the sense of being omnipotent. If you read the thousand sons book he mentions how he doesnt want people worshipping him (word bearers) and was spreading the imperial truth to stop people worshipping chaos magic.

However that said, warhammer 40k doesnt really have omnipotent beings at all. Even the chaos gods are bound by certain retraints. For example they cant enter the materium. So yes he kind of is a god in the sense he has super powerful manipulation of the warp which is on par with the chaos 'gods'.
