Coming from SM only player...this is the first time Chaos has been balanced....they are in a good spot. Eldar need the nerfin, Orks need a buffin, and SM needs a buffin. Though maybe the most recent patch did that nerfin to the Eldar
It's hard for CSM to be an melee oriented faction when you have an AC. I'm not complaining about CSM having it, that's fine but with a gun that strong, it tempts more players to choose that over melee units. Whenever I see CSM players focus on melee, they are like a black tide washing over the battle field. While the wolf priest is a strong single melee unit, the true strength of CSM melee is in numbers, combined with good support players and they are neigh unstoppable.
Little Nerf to auto cannon, and as always the fast attack stun *Not chaos specific but i will cry as much as i can about the fast attack spam*
Still every faction has noobs and every faction has pros. You can't use player skill to justify a faction's performance, you are just presuming too much. By that logic LSM are fine since they have the most noobs, which is likely as, numbers-wise they have 50% of the player population. But we all know they need help. [Edit] Not attacking you, just saying it makes your argument look weak.
As ork mostly player...CSM are about the same as LSM. I enjoy fighting both. The Eldar on the other hand....they are better after patch, but still just lay waste to us.
If you're so anti-nerfing, then please feel free to suggest how we could make the other races more complete. Just stating "Chaos are complete but others need buff" doesn't really deal with the topic guys...
I think they should buff MoK, I don't know, by adding more hp, or giving this buff from founder alpha, where you had defense boost while in melee. Otherwise they're fine.
My only problems with the CSM are... PC is stupid OP right now and needs a longer charge-up time, and I'm saying that as an LSM player. Every map is melee centric as shit, they have a melee capper. While this isn't some OMG CRAZY OP advantage, it combines with the next fact to compound some problems. CSM are by far the most fleshed out faction, they have options, tools, and strategies that other factions don't equal up to, at least not yet. We need to work on bringing other faction's toys to them. The penalties on their marks are harsh, but they are usually harsh on the stats that don't matter. For example, a stamina penalty on something that makes you incredibly tanky is somewhat questionable. Why would you need to move fast when you are tanky as shit anyways (and you still go into engagements with your rolls as long as you pace yourself)? Their penalties need to be made a bit lighter, and then applied in a way that actually affects them meaningfully. For example, the MoK and not being able to be healed is a fantastic example of a large bonus, with a large negative (and truthfully they could remove the no downed state and it'd be perfect still). Some of their weapons (like that flaming AC) could use a little balancing, but they aren't too far off. Other than that, they are right where they should be. Give other faction's their toys, tune the PC and some of their weapons, and rework their marks as I stated, and they'd be perfect.
Technically it all varies faction to faction. For example, I played with my clan as SM and we won every single game because we spammed rambo-apothecaries, something that the pubs and even some SM clans don't do. Simply put, a certain faction will have more skilled players if it has more dedicated players, something that Chaos for example does, since even the devs said that Chaos have more average XP than SM/Eldar (Not orks since those stats were bit before orks) and usually top the boards better in all aspects than those other 2 factions. Not gonna dig through the couple of dozen fucking streams to find it for you but I know what I'm talking about. Let me just get it clear that I have nothing against the Eldar or any community in EC for that matter, even though I basically called most of you newbs, but I'm just speaking from personal experience I had with the pubs and other clans from those factions AND comparing it to the experience I get from playing with my clan which is Chaos focused and we ALWAYS found ways to make something similar to OP in any faction and Eldar mostly. So basically no faction is OP, no faction is UP, I think all factions are balanced fine now, some might need some buffs and nerfs here and there like for example the Scorpion for Eldar and the Autocannon for Chaos, Narthecium for SM and Health for Orks but like... in the LONG RUN, when we're talking about the ENTIRE FACTION compared to those flaws it has, all factions are balanced in the proper hands! One reason why... the OP should have posted a few screenshots since we don't know if it was a guild premade because uhm... it was 7 minutes ago when I saw it and we were in the middle of CHAOS AC event... so...
Plasma Cannons in general should not 1 shot kill an geared up Ork at max armor and health. Other than that, I have no real gripes with CSM. I just feel Orks need more improvements for a variety of their weapons.
