Personally I look forward to the alliances, I just love the idea of going 'Yes of course xenos scumImean eldar allies, you charge ahead, we have your back.' and then shooting them it said back.
I think everyone knows in the end the population bias will be: 1. Space Marines/Chaos 2. Orks 3. Eldar1
I'd say that the forum activity is based on the amount of lore there is for each race. Space Marines have the mostr lore and then CSM > Eldar > Orks. That is why there is more activity for SM and CSM.
I have an interesting thought for this discussion. A game, a game that has nothing to do with TPS, MMO or Wh40k and horribly failed had a nice solution to the Faction problem. In this Strategy game there was a world map. Each sector controlled by a faction. You had at the start to choose which faction you want to fight for. There were 3, for your information. So depending on the amount of players and success a faction had, the other bonuses you got. The less players a faction had and you joined that one, the more bonus you got. The more players a faction had, the less bonus you got. So in basic you got rewarded for joining the looser, which is good! The name? Tom Clancy's End War. I know it was horrible, but only because the voice over did not work too well and the AI was ways faster than you.... Other than that the gameplay was pretty cool... just bad utilized. A similar thing for here would be cool. E.G. if Eldar have the least players and you join them perhaps you start out with a EXP bonus, additional starter equipment, extra gifts and what not. But if you join the overpopulated Space Marines you start out at level 1, no extra stuff. That's what I hope to see to balance this issue, because I doubt the Tyranids can fix everything (did they ever fix anything? I only saw them ever destroying stuff, lol!)
Haven't played or looked at Dishonored in detail, therefore i did not mention it but thanks for pointing it out for people which may have experience with it
Orks fair enough, I was quite wrong...forgot about the F2P thing . Space Marines and Chaos will be pretty tied. Don't forget all the edgy emo kids who want to play a big bad evil space marine
I could definitely see Chaos having a really big following, perhaps even close to SM. I just don't see them getting quite to those numbers... even with all the emo kids
