Even after 2 nerfs, people still whine about it. isnt that basically true for most if not all heavy weapons in general?
No doubt, but what about when that AC is covered by another in a different position? And that AC? Also covered by another? The final AC? Covered by the first. You see where I'm going with this? Again - there is a reason that 99% of Havoks use the weapon and 50% of CSM teams are Havoks. Keep denying it lads, keep spreading the "lol nerf AC agen" meme. Just remember that you have brought this on yourselves. When you spam a weapon, you should expect it to get nerfed.
It's not "Grass is greener" I've played extensively with the Autocannon and the Grav cannon and the Autocannon beats it hands down. It is equally effective sniping from/against the walls of Harkus as it is holding a short corridor. In a mid range fight between any heavy weapons the autocannon will win every time. It is an incredibly powerful defensive tool. Now I'm not saying the Grav cannon is bad, I'm simply saying the Autocannon is better. And you can't seriously tell me or anyone that you've assaulted Agnathio point B and haven't been killed twice by an autocannon?
I really don't know how I expected an actual discussion instead of the ususal asshattery and condescension, but oh well. At least the disappointment is a constant.
From my knowledge of using ac it's easily the best heavy weapon for chaos and this goes saying using the lsm heavy bolter and chaos heavy bolter, idj why but lsm one feels much better to use but that's just me. As for autocannon I rarley use and when I do it's because we don't have enough heavies to support. As for its dmg I mean it is a "cannon" that fires cannon rounds for emps sake wouldn't that destroy armor to begin with on infantry? Also most of my games I don't see many autocannons used at all maby one or two people but it's only when they are getting major kills that people complain about op. That's my experience with it. What two nerfs arnt enough for it? Btw sun rifle and klaw for life! With a side of truk driving skillz
my experience with people perceptione of AC is that each match LSM cry "AC OP" regardless of whethere there was more than one of them out there or whether it even made it in top 5.
OK, I'm an Ork player and I think the AC might be OP. Why do I think this? Because it is spammed. Massively. I'm finding it bizarre that some of you are denying it, it's so obvious. Perhaps it's the time I play (GMT) but trust me when I say 50% of the CSM team use them in games I play. I'm not talking 50% of heavies. I'm talking 50% of the team are Havoks using them. I'm not sure it is particularly relevant if they hold the top kills. CSM spam them to high heaven and there is a reason for this, knowing what I know of CSM players (they really, REALLY like to win) it's because it provides an advantage over every other heavy weapon (perhaps slight, but an advantage nonetheless).
According to google the fastest reaction time recorded was 100ms (which i'm guessing was tested in an environment where you are literally just waiting to click on something without anything else going on), you have 340ms to dodge the second AC round if caught unaware, if the first or second is a headshot you won't be able to survive if you have 240ms or more with the best recorded reaction time. The average is somewhere above 200ms, so your average person would need a ping lower then 140 to even have a chance to survive. Actually it's probably even less.. since I assume your dodge isn't clientside and thus you need to count your ping twice.
As an AG user and chaos main, you're clueless, sorry. The fact that you're accusing the AG of being OP, which it isn't, invalidates your sensationalist nerf demand right from the beginning. The AG is different from the standard AC because of it's fire DoT which was nerfed into the soil and does nothing. It cannot kill a full HP LSM in 2 shots, anyone who says otherwise is simply a liar. Autocannons suck at close range because of their low rate of fire, the HB shines here. AC's are best at medium-long ranges, but they struggle against moving targets again because of the low rate of fire (It has a ROF of 171 rpm). The AG has a huge tracer which instantly gives away your position and it suffers from increased recoil and overheats faster. Overheating is a big problem especially in target rich environments. I very rarely play as LSM but when I come up against AC users it's not hard to counter them. Remember the low ROF. Be erratic. Use cover. If you're staring down the barrel then try to move from cover to cover. Also do/use these: Grenades Fire & relocate, rinse repeat Flank Harass Snipe (lascannons are great here) I love it when LSM with literal point-and-click-to-win weapons (with a slow effect) like Grav guns which demolish anything in close combat, including vehicles, continue to whine about a gun which is good at medium range, which has a near-useless DoT, which can barely harm vehicles. What poses a problem is how poorly implemented heavy weapons are currently. Why can players with heavy weapons move AND fire? Why is there no setup time? Where are the LSM analogues like the assault cannon?
