(Yes, but there's a pretty big chunk of his story missing from the omnibus. You can gather what happened through conjecture, but its pretty obvious that a lot was skipped)

Honsou's very existence is a sign of our dominance over the Sons of Dorn. Whatever strength he claims is a gift from the Iron Warriors who taught him.
