He wen't Forward Bolt pistol in one hand and Crozius in the other firing off shots and scoring hits in the armor joint before His Crozius Crashed through the Chest of the iron warrior pulping the Iron warriors hearts.
Varus cursed as he took another bolt round to his chest from one of the remaining Traitors almost causing him to recoil backwards from his heavy bolter still stationed at the barricade, the defensive wall at this point was starting to look worse for wear from the firefight. Varus taking one look at the looming Obliterator made for the barricades going as fast as the heavy bolter would allow him, not stopping to take any shots at the single aggressor coming after the command group the devastator concentrated on reaching the barricades of the now deceased Iron warriors. It was disconcerting that the Obliterator as of right now had not already begun shooting at the group rather allowing them to fall back to the safety of the now available cover but Varus wasn't about to ponder the situation. Instead his intention was on following the captain and whether Spheridon stood and fought or fell back away from the walking horror depended upon Slavicus' next action.

Varus skidded to a halt as he reached the barricades and turned to face the Obliterator as it engaged the command squad that had chosen to stay and fight, hearing the captian's orders to move towards the engines he roared to the rest of the group. Kalgoan, Darius, Juvian, Captain Slavicus sir I'll suppress the Obliterator giving you time to withdraw.' Bringing the heavy bolter down with a crash on the heavy duty barricades Varus quickly set up the heavy bolter and trained his sights roughly upon the head of the Obliterator as it brawled, aching from his numerous light injuries the devastator held the weapon rock steady as he started firing seeking to distract the Iron warrior if only for a brief moment.
Darius got up with a groan. He quickly shook his head and started a chant while withdrawing quickly. As he fled down the hall towards the barricade, Darius wavded his staff at the Monstrous thing. fire shot up to fill the hallway on top of it. Leaving a hairs breath between fire and his comrades.
