With that surviving assault marine, Darius using hos mental abilities sent the Assault Marine flying into one of the far marines making both of their frags explode in the process by setting them afire. But in doing so left him open to bolter fire which literally tore through his helmet aand left a furrow in his scalp.
With the assault Marines Taken down Kalgoan Charged forward at the tacitcals setting up now aiming to disrupt them as he did A bolter shot struck into his pauldron and another into his damaged chest plate hitting home in his body and causing him to cough up some blood. "FEEL MY IRON TRAITOR!" he said as he jumped upward at one Marine bringing his crouzius down and smashing the Iron warriors head, As another Iron warrior Raised his bolter Kalgoan turned and the thrusted his Crozius through the Iron warriors chest. He then Grabbed the Iron warrior with his left hand and began using him as a shield. "Let Us see if your body is as good as your fortifications!" he yelled as he readied for the counter attack.
With the assaults taken care of Varus was given free reign to suppress the tacticals even as they continued building their fortifications, his continued barrage managed to take down at least two of the traitors assembling the barricades and forcing the rest to take cover. A group of the Iron warriors momentarily broke their cover in order to return fire at the Devastator managing to coordinate their efforts to split Varus's attention before he could react resulting in a bolt round penetrating a joint in Spheridon's power armor and Varus himself taking a hit to the left shoulder blade. Wincing as the pain kicked in the devastator continued shooting despite the injury managing to suppress the coordinated effort before they could cause any more damage.

The Captain managed to place two headshots in the Tactical Iron Warriors and down them instantly. Not without getting a shot in his left shoulder-hydraulic, though. @TechCaptain - The grenades were not as efficient as hoped as the barricades now stood quite stable and the Assault Astartes only ripped one fellow Iron Warrior who popped out of his cover along to death. @Vulpas - It was a smart move to some degree as the Chaplain managed to not just kill an Iron Warrior, but use one as an Iron Shield. The corpse absorbed quite many shots, perhaps he could use him enough to reach the next firing line behind the barricades? @Donairian - Despite the efforts of the Devastator, the Iron Warriors were builders even during combat. The others only watched the two Astartes fall dead to the ground as they finished up the barricades and now started to counter the attack. Their barrages of controlled salvos smashed into the Astartes-squad. At least the group still had the option to retreat through the hallway behind them! " Leaving the Assault Sergeant in command would allow Huxton to continue supporting the effort as he willed, taking control would only tie him down and such inflexibility was the bane of his own skill set.

Librarian Darius growled then started a chant of fire that was quite passionate. As his chant reached a cresto, fire poured from the roof in a sheet ontop of the marines. The fire cooked off more grenades and immolated the front two so much that they started melting as they died. The bolter rounds kept coming piercing his shoulder pauldron drawing blood.
Kalgoan Pushed onwards as the bolters came using the Iron warrior as a shield Several shots wen't through piercing his the joints near his Intestines his Organs pumped to clot the wounds as he pushed Forward Not Breaking, As the body became more Riddled he used this chance to return fire with a body Using it to prevent a iron warrior from Firing upon him and charging forward. Using a Similar maneuver as before his Criozius came soaring downwards onto the marines Chest before he raised his Bolt pistol and let off a shot in the Iron warriors head. He Grabbed The marines Body and shielded himself From a bolter shot to the head. His Crouzius Back in his hand as he put his bolt pistol to his belt he Brought it upwards destroying the Iron warrior's Bolter before having it come back down and finishing the Iron warrior off.
'Captain enemy forces have finished setting up barricades, recommend a strategic withdraw to deny their advantage' With most of the enemy now behind cover Varus halted his suppression and switched to hitting specific targets emerging out of cover with quick precise bursts of fire from his heavy bolter, for the devastator it had become a battle of anticipation and reaction times with about 7 enemy combatants. Managing to successfully second guess two of the Ion warriors as they emerged out of cover Varus's guesswork failed as a third traitor suddenly stood up and scored a salvo of hits on Spheridon causing an injury his right arm. Varus grimaced from behind his helmet, he did not want to waste any more ammunition on suppression fire when the enemy was already behind cover but in the wake of his injury he immediately sprayed the entire corridor with heavy bolter fire in order to halt the Iron warriors from capitalizing on his injury.

Luckily, Kalgoan managed to slay not just two, but three in his intense melee combat! @Donairian - Varus was indeed smart to use his Heavy weapon with more brain than brute force, having tricked the enemy to believe that he was waiting for the hot-weapon to cooldown, he indeed just aimed and downed two too stupid Iron Warriors - Leaving four Iron Warriors for the rest of the squad to take care off. Margrave (@kanila ) & Severus (@Avenging-Angel ) failed to score any deadly hits but continued to support from afar, given they would have to move soon in the opposite direction of the current location of the enemy.
