Iron Bane made useless in patch 24

Again, an axe built for the sole purpose of killing vehicles. It wasn't even Power Fist levels of penetration either, just markedly better than a regular Power Axe at cutting through armor. Maybe one way to fix all of these catch all issues is to have damage vs. specific targets. Chain weapons damage infantry, power weapons are the middle road, weapons made for AV are bad against infantry.
  2. Well, they are bad at infantry because they are slooooow as hell. The main problem is that the vehicles now got more health (or armor) so it´s hard to get those down without something that does massive ammounts of damage (power klaw, fist, melta, multi melta, melta bombs). So basically, they should give the axe 3 times more of damage to get again to patch 23 status, and that would be catastrophic.

No one suggested it was skillful ,just that its what the enemy deserve for leaving valuable vehicles unattended .
You dont have to be inside the vehicle to protect it,especially against meltas.
And no its not fun to defend vehicles, just like its not fun to be alone defending a cap point when anyone else is with the zerg, just like its not fun to be a healbot(some poeple actually like this ).But it is one of those things that can lead to victory.

It's skillful in that you need to pick and choose your battles. Can't tell you how many times I've seen Melta go to waste because someone thought he was Sly Marbo. Meltaguns are only "instagib" if you bring Meltabombs or team up with other AV. A Meltagun or Fusion Gun itself takes 1 overheat, meaning you have a good 3 seconds of firing plus 2 seconds of cooldown, then another 1 second to address the problem. The Multi-Melta can kill a vehicle in one burst but it sits on the slowest class with the shortest reach of all heavy weapons. That should be the Melta's bane actually. The fact that it's short range and damage drops off. Even the Meltabomb needs to be placed instead of thrown. It's up to the vehicle operator to be aware of where he stops his vehicles and what might happen to it in such a place. And I am most certainly not an Eldar player...xenos witches. As for one player not having fun...that is first off more a matter of opinion. I personally love cruising around in a vehicle while player spawn on me or man the guns. But I can see I'm one of few who might enjoy that. I do want a discussion, and I can see how making it take 2 overheats on a meltagun could make it feel more balanced. My issue arises with the fact that it would make a tank hunter like a Tactical with a Meltagun or a Fire Dragon be nerfed into the dirt just so that people have a better chance of escaping a bad parking job. Should also mention I would never condone making the Multi-Melta take more than one full firing cycle. He got there despite being the slowest guy with the biggest gun and the ungodly huge target that backpack and slab of metal in his hands paints on him. He kills you then...and that's your own damn fault.

I feel you man. No one ever assigns a squad to take and hold...or if they do squad gets bored and wanders off after butterfly Hawks.

  9. So what would your solution be? o_O An unattended Vehicle should survive a minute against an Antivehicle loadout?

3 melta bursts instead of one sounds about right to me.
