In patch 23 I got a power axe called the Iron Bane. It said it was a power axe made to destroy vehicles and it had higher penetration than the regular power axe. With strong attacks I could take a vehicle down in say 10-15 strikes. After patch 24 (where vehicles got extra armor right?) It take 30-40 strong attacks. Now the Iron Bane no longer does its job =( Devs, please buff the Iron Bane pen to compensate. It's an anti-vehicle axe that takes two minutes to kill a vehicle.
There's an ongoing issue where a lot of AV weapons are tickling vehicles. I think the devs tweaked vehicle armor too much.
I dont understand why this happens every time - buff something to heaven, then nerf a little? why cant they buff vehicle armor a bit, then nother bit, and stop when its gud? True, many AV weapons are now usable only on backside of vehicles - save meltagun because it does melta-effect, not pure damage.
Vehicles were dying too quickly. Far, far too quickly. Tanks were a liability against anyone who knew what they were doing. Transports were getting almost insta-popped by solo-yolo heroes. Anyone who knew what they were doing could even drop defended, mobile vehicles very, very quickly. The go-to method for pro tank blappers was ramming the enemy tank with their own vehicle, then jumping out and destroying it with infantry weapons before the enemy tank could regain its momentum and move away. One person shouldn't be able to stop an entire attack with a 3 second kamikaze strike to the rear of mobile, manned transport. That's just bad game design. The unfortunate cost of this over-all improvement to game health is that some semi-viable anti-tank weapons from before are now almost useless in that role. Thankfully these weapons are still just as good at killing infantry.
I disagree completely. Someone bearing an anti vehicle weapon should absolutely be able to destroy a vehicle. If someone tries to sacrifice themselves in a kamikaze attack then it is up to the person they are attacking to stop them. Don't abandon vehicles, and if you're careful you can identify a kamikaze threat and neutralize it before it does catastrophic damage. That's the whole point of an anti-vehicle weapon that aren't devastator arms, isn't it? The Melta gun does its job, the plasma gun was somewhere between the melta gun and a boltgun at doing this job, and weapons like the Iron Bane were thrown under the bus. I'm not saying all power weapons should cleave through armored boxes like butter, but the Iron Bane is supposedly purpose built for it. And now it can't do its job.
People need to learn to treat their vehicles right, driving and abandoning a rhino/pred(and equivalents) is going to end with a destroyed vehicle. As they are buffed now this trend of using vehicles as personal taxis and being abandoned after having reached their destination will only flourish.
He should be if he puts some effort into it. One kamikadze attack should 100% be not enough to kill a vehicle. 3 - maybe. Even 2 if it would take additional effort, but not one. One persons life is not equal one vehicle.
It does not ,when its manned ,protected and active , when its abandoned or not maned properly it should be less.
I am fine if 3 melta overheats will take down a rino. Obviously it will take less time to kill a rino in 3 overheats if no one is protecting it. However 1 overheat, as it is right now, is impossible to defend a rino against a meltagunner. Wave Serpent - you can but its kinda unique issue on the board.
