So, today I learned that you can apparently "dodge" grenades stuck to you by utilizing the Invincibility Frames in an Assault/Raptor's dodge if you time it just right. Just no. No no no no no, remove this stupid nonsensical rubbish immediately. I was having Raptors repeatedly avoiding dying from well-placed Plasma grenades, which is absolutely ridiculous and wholly frustrating.
Invincibility frames need to be removed so events like that cannot happen. Instead, players should gain Damage Resistance(I.E. 75 to 83.5%) against all damage they Dodge away from, determined by two 180-degree targeting cones. Any damage you are dodging towards would deal full damage to you. To improve the effectiveness of Dodge against Stuns due to the loss of invuln, players should temporarily(I.E. 0.15-sec) gain Stun Immunity at the start of a Dodge, allowing proper timing to not only prevent a Stun but also reduce damage taken.
Just my guess, the I-Frames may be there to avoid the calculation of an rolling Astartes, flipping Eldar It's easier just to take away his hitbox during a roll than to let that hitbox roll around with the animation (i could imagine thats a lot of calculation but dunno for sure ) I think beeing a smaller target to hit while rolling should be enough. Kudos to those raptors OP has seen, have never been able to do that xD
To have dodge useful against ranged fire? Its not like its hard to hit someone who dodges with bolter.
I honestly don't care what is done about it, as long as the end result is JPAs no longer being able to avoid the inevitable conclusion of exploding hideously after getting stuck with a grenade. That is the reward of accurately sticking a grenade to someone. You should not be able to cheat that. Ever. For any reason.
I think it should be 84.7% jk bro, I just find funny such especific numbers but I agree with you, remove the i-frames and add damage resistance
I-frame were put in place because we were killed like mosquito by ranged, even during our jet evade. Good ranged can perfectly follow us while dodging.... well, that was before patch 18. The thing is, if you retreat I-frame on jet evade, you have to retreat I-frame from roll, meaning also that we can cut down tactical during rolls. I am not sure EC community is ready for that XD even though that will happens when dev will correct the aim bug of stair !
