Lortharl moved with the others quickly keeping herself busy with looking around and wondering why they shock
Soon an entrance was found and the female explorer made her way through the dark. A slight orange glow came soon into sight from the end of the corridors. But instead of flames as one could assume, it was natural light of Crystals. Orange, Red and Yellow mixed their light, glowing in different pulses. The scanners showed the tunnel network, but no lifeforms so far. Except that Crystals to a degree could be seen as lifeforms, as they grew after all. The hollowing seemed rather random than intended, making it appear natural. The material down in the tunnel seemed to open up like a case and a blinding light emerged from it, the shaking continued but it seemed to weaken.
Readying the weapon he was given he aimed at the pod? Was that a good name for it? Maybe an egg? Whatever it was no one knew what lay hidden inside. "Enyo it's opening! Get ready!"
Enyo stopped his ascent. to look down at what Troy was talking about. Almost instantly he saw it, some kind of container. Maybe an egg waiting to finally be hatched? Enyo quickly put his other leg at the other end of the man made tunnel. He propped himself up, resting his back on the tunnel, giving him a superior firing position then just hanging on the cable. The only light that was able to come through was shining on the 'Egg'. With his weapon primed, Enyo aimed it directly over the object. "Maybe we should of taken the Grenade Launcher." He told Troy.
Still staring at the 'egg' he shouted over his shoulder, "Hindsight is twenty twenty isn't it! In our defense I think we were more concerned about a cave in." The rifle was drawn and he was ready to let loose if he needed to.
The light dimmed down until eventually disappearing, there was just darkness, until something like a red eye was there, blinking at the creatures above. It focused on Enyo, awaiting reaction.
Without looking away from the red eye, "Enyo, do you have a chemstick? We really need some light." What was that thing waiting for? It was staring straight past him as if he wasn't there. Which was odd because he was in between it and Enyo.
"No, but I still got the Beam-slicer." Enyo replied. He was nervous, not of the unknown creature, but of the position of him and his allies. He took the Beam slicer and lit it. The red beam's light brightening up the tunnel, but not enough to get a clear image of the creature. "You think I should drop it?" Enyo asked Troy.
The Machine simply remained blinking, occasionally now changing between the two of them - the shaking of the asteroid stopped by now and the new Scout-Ship landed on the Asteroid. Berthen was at the landing-zone, given that he was to pilot the thing and make sure nobody steals it this time.
He slung the rifle and reached back for the beam cutter. "Hand me the torch I'll go and check it out. Just head up there and get ready to pull me up." He knew it was foolish but it was better atleast one of them escaped.
