to ask for a refund is to condemn this game to die for sure. lets not do that. i would like EC to be a succes and the devs to keep their jobs. but they need to wake up that the current course is either bad decisions, or they try to make it come across like that cos they communicate in a dumb way. best thing they can do right now give a proper talk and explanation instead of trying to be funny in twitches and talking about how the meltagun goes pewpew in a diff way now for 10 minutes.
This weeks livestream is going to have the most interesting chat window about this. Hopefully they dont act like this thread and disappointment dont exist. Never expected open world or anything like that but the loss of a persistant campaign with map using averages of instanced battles is surprisingly weak. Making this the most shallow form of third person shooter with wonky gameplay that isnt likely going to be perfected by launch. So aside from being 40k, it brings nothing special to the table, at least Space Marine had a storyline campaign and looked great.
I still want to point out that I liked the concept of having this type of interview once in a while, however I fear that due to the current response from the community we might not see it in that format again...please prove me wrong ^^
We probably will never see another developer interview, at this point they have to much shit to cover up and can not risk more of it slipping out.
I have a lot of worries most of them not related to EC or any game but my personal life ^^ consider this just one amongst many which I felt to express
Great interview. Poor Brent, this probably wasn't the kinda game he'd think he'd end up making. But at least he has the job, most of us here just lost ours (Or what we thought our job in EC was going to be).
Even if the stuff they talk about adding in post launch does come in the population will be very small. Even new players who come get this game at launch will see how the world map just changes colors and doesnt provide anything of value, they will know the game was rushed and thats just one example. Then bad reviews will start pouring in which will discourage interested consumers form buying the game. There is a high chance of this game being doomed.
