I want to say yes but you comparing warhammer 40k to skylanders makes me sad

I don't understand what you mean. By this thread can you explain?

For a while I've thought it would be really cool to have the miniatures that you have in the real world somehow able to be 'scanned into a computer' and used to play that way, but I think it would be impossible, not to mention how much more expensive everything would be and when you think about it, basically the same thing as having DoW.

I still think it could be cool though, especially if it was possible to have the scan include any customisation to the models but again, this would be even more impossible.

well in a way that's how this game is going to work. you can go to www.games-workshop.com an buy some minitures and build you favorite player.

I think he means a way to incorporate Warhammer 40k Miniatures into working with the game like how Skylanders work for their self titled game.

Just for those who don't know Skylanders if a video game that can be played on multiple consoles using what's called a Portal of Power (small circular pedestal that has an RF scanner built into it) that you place Skylander figures on. Data on the figure it stored on it's base and is read by the Portal then projected onto the screen by the game.

This allows you to take your Skylanders to someone elses house on a DIFFERENT console type (as in, you have an xbox and friend has the PS3 version of the game,) since the Portal reads the figure and not the console. Info stored on the figure's base is stuff like the figure's level and what special abilities he's unlocked to other things like what hat it has on and how much money it has individually.

I at this moment don't think that Eternal Crusade needs this kind of idea. I understand the OP is just trying to tap into the potential of the idea and not a carbon copy, but I still feel that this kind of idea isn't well suited for this style of game as opposed to a Diablo style game or something akin to League of Legends (Oh the money they could be making in addition to what they're already pulling down...) It's something I'd rather see a game be based around it instead of added in after it's begun being made and while Warhammer 40k seems like a natrual choice, I think it'd be better if this kind of idea was left to oh...Dawn of War 3 or something like it.

Do you have a source for this?

Do you have evidence to back this up or is this something you want to happen? IE where is your proof? Unless I'm misunderstanding you.
