I hope the game supports external ui addons - even more customization. You dont have to use it... but for people who want to its always a great "feature" =)
I completely disagree, external UI addons take away too much player skill at times, which may be more okay in a hotbar game, but not a third person shooter action game. They also open up the game to too many opportunists who use it to create macros or cheats. A well made customizable UI with a forum dedicated to community suggestions would be much more manageable and fair in the long run.
It would make sense (lore wise) if you have the health monitor for the rest of your squad up the corner or something (maybe only as Sergeant?) also ammo/health/armor/targeting assist(optional) should be there
He means where you have to watch and manage a bunch of bars. I agree, I'd rather shoot. But for players in leadership roles it could be good info to have.
having squad health for everyone is fine. I do think that there should be an option to turn it off. I would really like to see bars and options for everything to be displayed. So if someone wants to have every little detail on their hud, but have it crowded they can, but if someone just wants a single bar with their abilities and a mini map they can just turn everything else off and run like that also. I think that would be the best, give players access to everything, but let them decide what to display. I like minimalist huds so fancy borders and such like WoW is something I dont like, but i dont see why players shouldnt have several skins to choose from.
Would it be a crazy idea to have a toggle where when on you got some sort of translucent line appear to your squad leader to enable players to stay in formation easier if they got lost in the heat of the battle?
A way to easily track your Squad members, including your Squad leader, will be there for sure. Lines, arrows, etc., we will need to see what visual fits best as we build the HUD. Again, whatever we include should be able to adjustable by the players.
